I am tired of hearing about short bench and commenters keep talking about it. The lack of depth is an n coaching staff. This is your 3rd season which means 3 recruiting classes. Ponds is the only sophmore contributing. My mind is made up. Time to move on from yet another failed coaching experiment. Nobody coming in next yr is a program changer and that ncludes transfers & frosh
That's unfair. Mullin's 'first' recruiting class was last minute desperation, lost Sampson the 1 Lavin commit, failed on Diallo who slipped to KS, and headcases Obekpa and Jordan defected--a mess, and not Chris' fault. Our lack of depth is partly on Chris' dime--but not totally, since we had to rely on the transfer option to rebuild the team. The only 'loss' in the roster from last year that I deem may have been preventable, and regrettable is Sima's.
LoVett's decision to quit on the team not the Staff's fault.
And I strongly disagree about next year's recruiting class. First, we don't need 'game changers' as much as we need kids that can contribute and provide Big East quality depth.
Dixon will likely start next year; far savvier posters than me believe the kid is BE caliber. Keita should provide depth from the get-go. Brooks has presence underneath and should help greatly. Williams is athletic and will help. Trimble will likely improve. Roberts is a work-in-progress with great potential, and if Diakite is healthy, he will contribute in time.
As is, we may go 8 - 9 deep next year, and get better as the year progresses.
Barring defections, we should be very competitive next year in the Conference.
IF Mullin fails with that roster, then repost your comments.
