Bronx Bombers 2017 Season Thread

I'm still working on liking Girardi as a manager. Can't seem to get there. Like him as a person. Like his personality as a manager but not his moves. Was used to Torre who had the best instincts and always seemed to make the right moves.

Girardi manages with the full season in mind, usually. Torre managed more single-game minded. That's why he burned out some relievers arms.

Hope this is not the start of a bad streak, but that's what it feels like. Hopefully the porcelain doll, Ellsbury, is OK. Bird looks absolutely lost and frustrated.

bird - 4 at bats, 5 outs - needs to be sent to minors to get straight. he'll be back soon enough.

today's bronx baby bombers bambino awards go to- the lineup - 5 hrs, 4 doubles, 16 hits, 4 walks
bird on dl.
babe gardner hot - finally hitting owen's weight
"aaron ruth" (not copywrited) - yankee/al mini season mvp.

Judge 12HRs (leads the majors), 25RBIs (2nd in the AL), and hitting 313 so far
In just 83 AB. That's hitting a HR in less then every 7 ABs.

Kid is on pace of have 498ABs, 72HRs, and 150RBIs. Lets see what he does in his next 83 ABs.

Just for kicks i'm gonna look up Sanchez's first 100AB from last year.
He had 11HRs and 21RBIs.
In 2016 he hit 19HRs in 45 games, the fastest to do that in the modern era.

Judge has 12 in 24 games played. Can he top Sanchez?
Wish Sanchez stayed healthy, would have been fun watching those 2 go head to head all year.

Oh speaking of Sanchez, he could be back by this weekend.

I love this paragraph in the article:

With Mets ace Noah Syndergaard out indefinitely, this town now belongs to Judge. Thor has been replaced by The Judge — all rise to the sound of the gavel that comes before each of his at-bats.

:)

Any time a team
Is down to its last strike AND win
You gotta love it!

I'd still be happy w a .500 season but surely looks as though the YANKEES will surpass that!

Didn't see game only caught end in radio
How did Sanchez look at bat?

Tonight 5ABs (88ABs), 1HR (13HRs), 2RBIs (27RBIs)

92ABs 13, and 27. The kid had another multiple hit game, avg up to 337.

27games is 1/6th of the season. On pace for 78HRs, and 162RBIs. After 54game 1/3rd of the season, if he's on the same pace then ya really gotta watch his ABs.

Oh and by the way they got the best record in baseball at 18-9, I believe they started 1-4??? :). On pace for 108 wins.

Thought the lack of hitting with RISP would haunt them today, but they still found a,way to win. Good pitching performance across the board.
