Bronx Bombers 2017 Season Thread

Detroit at 20 games under .500 can afford suspensions, they Yankees fighting for a playoff spot cannot. The heck they doin?

WTF you want Romine to do? That fat sack of shit Cabrera gets in his face, I'm glad Romine stood his ground, good for him. If I'm a teammate I'm running to help him too, Romine is a little guy, Sanchez has a much better chance vs. Cabrera.
It's hard to think Betances hits that Tiger in the head on purpose after your team down 6-3 ties it in the 7th 6-6, but as the umpire you gotta eject him. What else can the umpire do? Not eject him after the earlier incident? I had to leave so I listened to the game on the radio, and heard Todd got hit in the top of the 8th and Gardner and Iglesias had a shoven match.

How about being smart enough to keep your mask on for a start. Let's see how happy you are they all played macho man when suspensions are handed out and it maybe costs them a playoff birth. Yeah smarter to play 162 games for nothing but we won the fight on August 24 against the Tigers.

Yep, Romine should have covered up and took Cabreras punches and not fight back.
Well no grown man will let another man hit him and not fight back. I'd throw my hands and take the consequences.

Only time I'd take a punch is if I'm in the NHL and it's the playoffs, I'd talk shit hoping he'd punch me, hopefully he gets a double minor and my team gets a goal, hell I took a punch for the team, we better get a goal lol

I just said he shouldn't take his mask off not that he shouldn't defend himself if attacked. Forget Romine there were 3 bench and bullpen clearing brawls where they say Sanchez threw a punch and may be suspended for who knows how many games. Yes this game behavior could cost the Yankees a playoff birth so my point is why waste time with the lowly Tigers who if they get suspensions it means diddly save it for a team you are in contention with so they are equally handicapped by any suspensions. Capeche?

Yeah, Sanchez sucker punched someone, couldn't see who it was, Cabrera? FS1 was saying 10-15 games. I hoping 7-8 games at the most.
Betances will get 5? Though after being down 6--3 and t\ying it, why would he hit the Detroit batter on purpose and on the first pitch? I mean if they wanted to hit him, why not leave in Chapman, then put in Betances?

See sanchez punch at :29

Four games for Sanchez, two games for Romine, no suspension for Betances.

IMO, the Romine suspension is BS, but the other two got off easy.

http://m.yankees.mlb.com/news/article/250518162/four-players-suspended-in-yanks-tigers-fracas/

Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera has received a seven-game suspension for inciting the first bench-clearing incident and fighting.

Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez has received a four-game suspension for fighting, including throwing punches.

Tigers pitcher Alex Wilson has received a four-game suspension for intentionally throwing a pitch at Todd Frazier of the Yankees while warnings were in place for both sides.

Yankees catcher Austin Romine has received a two-game suspension for fighting, including throwing punches.

Tigers manager Brad Ausmus has received a one-game suspension for the intentional actions of Wilson while warnings were in place.

All five individuals also received undisclosed fines as a part of their discipline. Others who were fined for their actions during the incidents were Yankees manager Joe Girardi, Yankees bench coach/acting manager Rob Thomson, Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner , Yankees pitcher Tommy Kahnle and Tigers shortstop Jose Iglesias . In addition, two members of the Yankees, first baseman Garrett Cooper and outfielder Clint Frazier , received fines for entering the field while being on the disabled list.

0 for 12 with runnners in scoring position.
left bases loaded 3 times. runner on 3rd another.
boring game - more yankee walks than hits.
chapman/ellsbury - i want their agents.

Right now I have no confidence in any of the 4 end of game relievers. They are all struggling, and apt to have a bad outing more than a good one.

toe did a very good job for the yankees.
the lineup however is so much better now with bird & all starlin.
bravo to the chief that i "buryed" yesterday.
yanks last in al in one run games.

scoreboard watching
great night - all the contenders with the yanks except laa lost.
losers - m's, twinkies, redsucks, tx, kc, tpa.
only winner laa. they won 7 to 6, scoring 6 runs in their last 2 innings.
yankee reject clippard took the loss.

Redsox lost 7-0 so some how the lead is down 3 1/2 despite at times the Yankees playing horrible.

Hoping the yanks win tomorrow and can win this series. Boston will most like win tomorrow, I can't see Baltimore sweeping.

Yanks gotta take 2-3 atleast vs. Cleveland, Boston (only 1 over 500 on the road) at Toronto (despite a bad record overall is still 5 over 500 at home), hoping Toronto can take 2 of 3 at home and play spoilers. Would be great to get down to 2 1/2 going into the Boston series after being out 5 1/2.

I'm getting sick of losing series to Boston, forget a split, @ our house we gotta take 3 of 4.

First focus on focus and Cleveland.

bravo masa for a well pitched game & saving the pen for the indians.
bravo kraken (mr august), all starlin, & bird. if these guys were healthy all year, everyone is chasing the pinstripes.
chief - friday - feather duster, saturday & sunday - peacock.
toe - you might be the best non starter in mlb.
i hope i never see those uniforms worn today again. pinstripes forever.

Marquee Matchup Today-Indians vs. Yankees
Kluber (12-4, 2.65) vs. Severino (11-5, 3.10)

i'm a big fan of girard(i). i also believe managing is overrated.
but with a rested pen, to bring in rocket in 8th inning in 2 run ball game. come on.
the indians bring in their closer in a 4 run ball game.
yanks need more than 8 total bases to beat a division leader.
sevy has been hot lately.

Tuesday's game rained out.
Double header on Wednesday.
