Bronx Bombers 2017 Season Thread

Just had a feeling after Yanks scored 6 runs in one inning that they would stop scoring and Baltimore would come back from down 6-1 but had high hopes they would hold on in bottom of ninth. Very tough loss to a fellow wild card contender. :( and Boston just won in bottom of the 19th. Yuck!
 
Just a horrible, deflating loss. Inability to consistently throw strikes by almost everyone in this bullpen will result in a few more losses like this. No add-on runs was a killer as well.
 
That loss was liked getting kicked in the balls.
 
Stick-Important part of the Yankees legacy. Deserves more recognition. RIP.
 
Was regarded highly enough to be traded to the Dodgers (as part of Bob Bailey to Dodgers trade) as part of a trade for Maury Wills.

He played for the Yankees in their dog days and was a good fielding no hit shortstop.

Somewhere I have his rookie card.

Made his mark as an executive with the Yankees. Sad day.

My gosh, he got to 79 really fast.

Stick built that dynasty.
George was suspended in 90? Which was a blessing. He always traded minor league prospects for over the hill stars. Once Stick was in charge he kept the kids, and we know the rest of the story. 3 straight and 4 out of 5, 2outs away from 4 straight and 5 out of 6 but Arizona blooped Mariano to death, no solid hard hits.

Actually I could see Yanks spliiting @ Balt and TB, they have to win 2 of 3 at TB. 5-4 trip.
Boston could sweep Toronto, and win the first 2 vs. Oak (not counting Thursdays game. Just pray TB wins 2 of 3 at Fenway. 6-2. That's 5 out. Cannot be more then that on sept 13th

Well we won the series @ Balt, and atleast Boston didn't sweep Toronto, so it stays at 3 1/2 going to the weekend which I'll take.

Yanks @ Texas, need 2 of 3. Yes, they only 2 out of the 2nd WC.
TB @ Boston. TB is only 3 out, so you know they'll play Boston tough.

Great win tonight and taking 3 of 4, they did what they had to do, Boston would have loved a split.

My last post was a week ago tonight saying: " Boston can't bury us, only 2 1/2 out."

Well since then: Cleve sweeps us, boston sweeps the Jays and back to 5 1/2.
Back down to 3 1/2.

Yanks were in 1st when doing great till mid June, then stink and 5 1/2 out, then 1/2 in 1st, then 5out, down to 3, back to 5 1/2, down to 2 1/2, back to 5 1/2, now to 3 1/2.
You start feeling good then they're making a move then they disappoint.
You think that boston might take control of the east and then the yanks turn it on and cut it 2-3 games then you get a good feeling, only to be disappointed again.

Well we're 4-2 right along with Boston, I was thinking we'd split with Balt and TB, now we play them at Citi field. So yeah why not take 2 of 3 from TB

I'll take 4 out after wednesday, and only lose a 1/2 game in these 9 games. Then it's home cooking from then on out.

Believe they have a 3 game series left in Toronto but you are right the rest of the season is at home.
