Bronx Bombers 2017 Season Thread

Going tomorrow and maybe Wednesday. September pennant race Yankee baseball in Queens (don't have to schlep all the way up to the Bronx). Hoping for some moonshots from Sanchez and or Judge!

Beginning to think this team is a bunch of teasers. Girardi is playing around with the lineup too much imho. Today is a horrible matchup with Archer vs. Garcia. Expecting a series loss.

Glad I was wrong about this matchup. But, you heard it here first. Yanks will lose to the Twins and Ervin Santana, 3-1 in the Wild card game. No confidence in this offense.

Yanks go 6-3 on the 9 game road trip, even if Boston win, the Yanks only a 1/2 game since the beginning of the trip.
As of now, Oakland is beating the Cheatsox 7-3 in the top of the 8th. Lead could be cut to 3

Now, we have some FREAKING SHITTY HITTING.
Twice the bases were loaded, and once with just one out which means you could get him home on an out. Top of the 9th had 1st and 3rd no outs, so they had 2 chances to get Gardner home on outs twice but failed. WTF is up with the hitters. Cleve , Houston or Boston will make them pay in the playoffs.

Now on to Girardi: WTF does he take Betances out vs. Souza (the righty vs. righty thing, for Chapman: a lefty vs. righty.), I'm thinking maybe Souza hits Betances good, So I check.
Souza was 3-9 vs. Betances, but all 3 hits were in 2015. Last year and this year Betances faced him 3 times, all were K's. So I check Chapman vs. Souza: 0-3.
Sometimes I think he changes pitchers just for the hell of it.

Monte 3.1 on Sunday - I agreed with the move, up 9-2 after the 6run 4th then Jordan walks the first 2 hitters in the bottom half??? Up up 7 so why not challenge the freaking hitters.
CC 3.1 I know Joe wanted that game.
Today Gargia couldn't go 5 and he didn't pitch bad.

We're gonna need our starters to go atleast 6 just to save the pen, thank god Sonny went 8 on Tuesday.

Now 4 of the last 5 at home, I think we'll need to sweep 2 of the 4 at home, and gotta win every series.
It will be a fun half month to go.

Great win tonight and taking 3 of 4, they did what they had to do, Boston would have loved a split.

My last post was a week ago tonight saying: " Boston can't bury us, only 2 1/2 out."

Well since then: Cleve sweeps us, boston sweeps the Jays and back to 5 1/2.
Back down to 3 1/2.

Yanks were in 1st when doing great till mid June, then stink and 5 1/2 out, then 1/2 in 1st, then 5out, down to 3, back to 5 1/2, down to 2 1/2, back to 5 1/2, now to 3 1/2.
You start feeling good then they're making a move then they disappoint.
You think that boston might take control of the east and then the yanks turn it on and cut it 2-3 games then you get a good feeling, only to be disappointed again.

Schedule is tough now, next 3 series:
Yanks:
@ Balt mon, tues, wed
@ Tex Fri, sat, sun
@ TB mon, tues, wed

Boston

Vs. Tor mon, tues, wed
Vs. TB fri, sat, sun
Vs. Oak Tues, wed, thurs

Boston might sweep Toronto, we gotta win 2 of 3 in Baltimore (4out), TB fight for a playoff spot, pray they can take 2 of 3 at Fenway, yanks win 2 of 3 at Tex and back to (3out), Yanks at TB could we get 2 of 3, Sox might sweep oak

Actually I could see Yanks spliiting @ Balt and TB, they have to win 2 of 3 at TB. 5-4 trip.
Boston could sweep Toronto, and win the first 2 vs. Oak (not counting Thursdays game. Just pray TB wins 2 of 3 at Fenway. 6-2. That's 5 out. Cannot be more then that on sept 13th

4 of the 5 series are at home for the Yanks, and the lone road series is at Toronto.

Boston after the home stand: @TB 3, @BAlt 3, @Cincy 3, vs Tor 3, Vs Houston 4.

Gotta survive these next 9

We need to find a way to end every week one game closer to the Red Sox, then where we started it. If we game one game on Boston every week, we win the division by a game.

well we gained a 1/2 game on the trip.

Through next weekend:
We got 4 vs. Baltimore (16under on the road), gotta take 3 of 4 there. Minnesota (7over on the road) goota take 2 of 3. 3 @ Toronto, need 2 of 3 there go 7-3

Boston:
3 @ TB (1 over @ home. 3 @ Baltimore (14 over @ home). I could see 3-3 there. 3 @ Cincy lose a game there.
5-4 trip for them?

That would put us 1 1/2 out with a week to go. I hope for a total collapse from Boston.

Fun trip to Citi Field, I saw the Monday game from the Delta Suite Section 11 for $25 bucks. One of the more fun experiences I've ever had at a baseball game.

With that said, happy to see Oakland took 1 of 3 against the Sox. Expected them to get swept. Hoping Tampa comes out swinging back at home.

13 = the magic number to clinch a spot in the tournament.

Finally back to 15 games over .500 which had been their high water mark this season which means that at least they have played .500 ball for the last 3 months.

one more win & yanks beat las vegas' pre season prediction for total season wins.
yanks treat o's pitching like batting practice.
*With their win today, the Yankees clinched their 25th consecutive winning season. They have not had a losing record since 1992. The only longer streak of winning seasons in major league history also belongs to the Yankees: 39, from 1926 to 1964

Big three game series with the Twins, begins tonight.

TONIGHT-Santana (15-7, 3.35) vs. Garcia (1-2, 4.50)
TUESDAY-Berrios (12-7, 3.84) vs. Sabathia (11-5, 3.85)
WEDNESDAY-Colon (4-5, 4.80) vs. Tanaka (12-11, 4.73)

Sorry, but idiot Girardi played around with the rotation, starting yesterday. Now Severino doesn't pitch Wednesday to try to bury the Twins. Too much screwing around by Girardi.
