Bronx Bombers 2017 Season Thread

I find Girardi is a better manager for the full season, managing playing time and resting players, then managing strategy for a single games.

Gallegos needs to be demoted. Not ready for prime time.

I think Gardner had a shot at that ball and should have called off Castro (who I don't blame because it was a tough play and Gardner never called for it).

I heard that Mason Williams will be joining them in Oakland tonight in case they need to DL Hicks or just in case Hicks is going to be out one or two game, they can option someone back to Scranton/WB and activate Williams just in case.

Williams is the only outfielder they have in the minors who is currently on the 40 man roster.

That was a hard loss to take. If Castro catches it Yanks win, instead he could make the catch and 2 runs cross and they lose. I'm hoping to split at Oakland and end the west coast trip at 3-4.

I'm starting to think Girardi is an idiot.
On Monday - Clippard blew the game for Tanaka. Tuesday - Takes out Warner after only an inning and 15pitches and puts in Clippard and he gives up the game tying homer, Wednesday neither Warren or Clippard pitches, last night instead of Girardi put in Clippard instead of warren and Clippard took a shit again.

Don't necessarily disagree on Girardi. Sometimes he does drive me nuts, but last night he didn't have Warren or Shreve.

Cashman just announced on the Michael Kay Show that Warren is going on the DL.

No plans to put Hicks or Sanchez on DL, but Yankees are calling up Williams and Higashioka, just to be safe.

all rise - 3 run homer. yanks trailing by 1.

seems either the yanks win easily or lose the close games.
yankee lineup keeps them in most of the games.
too often the starting pitcher puts them in a hole then girardi mixes & matches his bullpen hoping to find a hot goalie.

3 times the bad guys leadoff batter lead off with a walk & one scored.

yes. yanks have been blessed with mariano, sparky, goose. most reliel pitchers seldom have 3 good years in a row.

How many leadoff batters were walked by Yankee pitchers tonight that turned into runs? Yikes. Poor effort by this strained pitching staff. And it only gets worse the next couple of days with a TBA one of the days.

Relief pitching becoming a reel bugaboo. Can't wait for Chap to get back.

We're starting to experience what just about every other team in the league has experienced multiple times over the past 20+ years. We've been spoiled around here. Been fortunate to have many great bullpen arms in that stretch.

Hopefully, Chapman's return will allow everyone to pitch in their regular roles, though the Warren injury hurts, IMO.

This road trip is shaping up to be a disaster. Gotta somehow win the final 2 in oakland.

For the first time since early in the season, this team looked beaten down today. Humbling game.

Yanks throw Louis Cessa, 0-0, 5.40 against Cotton, 3-7, 5.52.
Oy!

Their hitting is on fire (except for yesterday), on this west coast trip. It's their pitching that sucks.
The pitching has been good all year long. I'm hoping this is just a funk, and they get back on track at home.

Oh by the way it's 4-3 A's top 4th
Matt and Didi with HRs, but Oakland got 4 in the 3rd

Ruined my Father's Day. If you want to be in the conversation with the better teams, you cannot lose 6 of 7 games to 2 bad teams, and 4 to the awful A's. Looks like this team are pretenders, not contenders. Seems l Iike the Yanks popped out 20 times today.

Dear Delaware
Funny how we ( some of us) take our teams' losses so much to heart - must be some prehistoric neuro- pathway that equates a loss in sports to a loss in the greater scheme of our lives

Yes, yes it's only a game
But to some of us when our team losses
It stinks and, of course, hurts
The only cure for which is a W
And maybe Aaron Judge hitting two homers even in a loss lol

The end of Father's Day
Some had no father or not a good father
So for those it's not a happy occasion
It's not a meaningful holiday
(Kids in some homes do not celebrate Mother's Day)
For those of us who are good Dads or had loving Dads...all the best and I hope you got some quality time with your kids today

As I said
All the best

I was being facetious, but your words are right on the mark. Hope you had a nice Father's Day as well.
