CC left the game after 4 innings with a hamstring injury.

another reason to not love carter. 0 for 2 with risp. his error lead to an unearned run.
went nighty night after 3 innings.
shades of bill mazeroski world series. this season - win by a lot. lose by a little.
just when cc gets it together, he has leg issue.

Pineda (7-3, 3.39) vs. Shoemaker (6-3, 4.22)
 
Why not go with Warren for 2 innings? Why put in Clippard, he stinks.

Make Warren the setup man until Chapman comes back. Gotta blame this loss in Girardi
 
Annoying loss. Hard to complain considering what this team has been doing but they lost a game to second place Boston bc of this disaster.

Carter error leads to a run + CC getting injured.
Clippard showing he is not a set up guy since Chapman has been gone. They've been lucky that they haven't really needed him in these blow outs.
Girardi not pinch hitting Toe for Carter in the 11th, instead making him run for Sanchez. Toe puts the ball in play and even if he hit it on the ground for a double play ball there is a chance he could beat it out and the run scores.
Girardi and Cashman staying with Carter while Austin and Bird are in AAA right now is annoying. Enough of this experiment it was $3 million bucks midway through June who cares.

No doubt, Yankee pitchers are starting to revert to last year when they couldn't close out innings after getting the first 2 outs of an inning.

I think Gardner had a shot at that ball and should have called off Castro (who I don't blame because it was a tough play and Gardner never called for it).

I heard that Mason Williams will be joining them in Oakland tonight in case they need to DL Hicks or just in case Hicks is going to be out one or two game, they can option someone back to Scranton/WB and activate Williams just in case.

Williams is the only outfielder they have in the minors who is currently on the 40 man roster.

That was a hard loss to take. If Castro catches it Yanks win, instead he could make the catch and 2 runs cross and they lose. I'm hoping to split at Oakland and end the west coast trip at 3-4.

I'm starting to think Girardi is an idiot.
On Monday - Clippard blew the game for Tanaka. Tuesday - Takes out Warner after only an inning and 15pitches and puts in Clippard and he gives up the game tying homer, Wednesday neither Warren or Clippard pitches, last night instead of Girardi put in Clippard instead of warren and Clippard took a shit again.
