10 games left, and we need to win 6 and I think we will be NCAA bound. It is why every game and win is so important. Gotta win tomorrow. No looking back.

Don't think of it as 10 games. One game, one game, one game.

Someone once asked Mother Theresa how amazing it was that she had helped tends of thousands of people die with dignity. Her response was that it was never about all the people. It was in her words, "one, one, one..." underscoring her immense capacity to love one person at a time, caring for the sick and dying in the strreets of Calcutta.

It's a good rule in life to deal with people we meet, situations we encounter, with the same devotion and intensity.

With something relatively so trivial as basketball, taking the next ten games as one, one, one will bring us one step closer to a lofty goal with each game. Hopefully, we leave CA tonight with a win, and one more enjoyable game in what is turning out to be another positive step in the restoration of our program. The great thing is that for us, the most loyal fans, we no longer take anything for granted, certainy not an at-large NCAA bid. In the old days, we expected a bid, and also expected impending failure. In this era, we are expecting less, but enjoying the improvement more.

remember that this is if the season ended today, this is where they would stand, if we lose on Sunday, we can find our selves back in the first four out.

Well, talk about being optimistic. Yesterday, Sal Licata, Adam Schine and Chris Carlin on SNY had St.John's definitely in the NCAA Tournament. Had some nice comments about Steve Lavin's success.

Lunardi has SJU as one of his last 4 teams in as a #12 seed.

Shouldn't we be swiping places with Belmont, so we wouldn't be playing Georgetown in the round of 64 game? Both sides are going to San Jose, so travel wouldn't be an issue.

I think now that the round of 64 is the "second" round you are allowed to play conference opponents in it.

The changing terminology (as stupid as it is) shouldn't change a thing. 2 years ago, there were Big East matchups in the Round of 32 (old second round), because the Big East sent 11 teams, and there was no other way around it.

Unless a conference sends more then 16 teams, I don't think you are allowed to meet a conference oppoenent in the Round of 64, unless that rule was taken off the books (and I'd still think they would try to avoid it).

EDIT TO ADD: Looking at it agian, there is no way we could play in any of the "first four" games he has, without potentially facing a Big East team before the Round of 32. Still, I would think the committee would lean towards having that, rather then a conference game in the round of 64. I also think the committee will try to do anything to avoid a bracket like this, especially with only 8 Big East teams in the tournament.

He has Arizona a 1 seed, and in his last four in. Nice job Lunardi.

Typo. He obviously meant Arizona St.

Still think putting us up against Georgetown (potentially) in the round of 64 was a worse mistake.

Lunardi doesn't worry about conference match ups and sites so much. As I understand it for now he simply does his 68 team snake. His goal, as always, is to get all of the at larges right on selection Sunday, nothing more. Worrying about match ups, sites and regionals he leaves to the selection committee.

Per my other post the committee would certainly adjust a seeding if it was the only way to avoid a conference match-up in the round of 64. Lunardi doesn't worry about that, especially in the first week of February.

Then, IMO, he should only list the 68 teams that are going to be in the tournament, in his opnion. If he's actually going to put a bracket together, it should be one that would be possible to be returned by the committee on Selection Sunday. Leaving in a bracket with obvious mistakes like that (weather it was intentional or not) damages his credibility, IMO. Maybe I'm overreacting, but I've gotta admit, it bothers me.

NY talking heads follow college hoop about as closely as Ricky Martin follows the Lingere League. (Realize Carlin does Rutgers hoop).

It bothers me that you use the word "weather" instead of "whether". Just kidding. Obviously noone is perfect but Lunardi is as close as they come every year. Cut him some slack and just hope he has them in the field on Selection Sunday.

My spelling does leave a lot to be desired. So does this bracket by Lunardi.

Forget "weather" and "whether" what is "noone"? Do you mean "no one"? JK
