BRACKETOLOGY, RPI, SOS

I know not everyone agrees with this but, I want Georgetown and Providence dancing as well as us. I think it would be a great message to the other "power conferences" (not to mention recruits) to send 50% of our conference to the NCAA Tournament in our first season with the new members.

We are still very much a power conference.

FYI, there are some in Syracuse land who think we are also dancing. Of course some still won't accept the fact that things are changing for the better as far as SJU hoops go but that's ok, time will set things straight.

lol. I like that we`re still on their minds, if we sucked we sure wouldn`t be.
We`re winning which is why they keep talking about us.

I love the one Syracuse fan comment I'm glad we don't have to play that physical chippy style of play anymore"

LOL. Have fun playing your conference in the middle of nowhere

Lunardi has us in his "last four in" category

The Last Four in have to play each other in the play in games in the "First Four"

The category "Last Four Byes" are the last at large teams that are in the field without having to participate in the first four.

For us to get into this category, Lunardi tweeted saying St. John's would have to win our next two games. He tweeted that before the Georgetown game. So we won the first game, and now can get in safely for the time being with a win tomorrow night.

Teams to root against moving forward, are the teams in the last four byes. These teams are

Minnesota - play Wednesday at home versus Illinois. Trap game.
Oklahoma State - play tonight at Baylor. Final game without Marcus Smart.
Providence - play tomorrow at home versus a nova team coming off a loss
Missouri - have a real easy road the rest of the way, host Vandy on Wednesday

Although we are in the last four in, we are the final team in this category. Meaning all the following teams are ahead of us on the bubble technically.

Tennesee - play tomorrow at home versus Georgia, bulldogs are a tough team.

Richmond - play at home Wednesday against George Washington, the spiders have a tough road to finish the season

St Joseph's - play at URI Wednesday. Hawks have some tough games left this year @ George Washington and at home versus Dayton. They also have a home game against Fordham, we need the rams to pull through with the upset

It's worth noting last four in basically means NOT in. Not every AQ in his bracket will win and sometimes that can take away at-large bids.

Its also worth noting Lunardi is saying whos in if the season ended today. Whats important is whos in on selection Sun. We have to keep on winning.

Does it matter to us who wins this Baylor vs. Okla St. game?

Not really, but UNC beating FSU really pushed the Seminoles off the bubble for good, helping us tonight.

Baylor wins. I think it would have been better if OSU won, because Baylor would have really suffered in the RPI with a home loss and I think OSU is in much more trouble overall. They've lost seven straight and eight of nine with Kansas, Kansas St. and @Iowa St. left on the schedule...4-8 in conference and no huge wins. A Baylor loss would have put them permanently in our rear-rview. As it is, they are both still slightly ahead of us in the just updated RPI (49,50). http://www.rpiforecast.com/live-rpi.html

I have no idea how OSU has lost more than 3-4 games. They have some talent.

Baylor would be a matchup nightmare for us. They have a top 3 frontline and the are hands down the best offensive rebounding team I've seen all year. They will only get better as their frosh pg gets more experience with each game. Nobody will want to play them in March...a tenth loss would been awesome.
