Big East Tournament

Here is the bracket as of today. In my opinion it is pivotal we get to the 6th seed and knock DePaul to the 7 by the end of the year. Meaning wednesday is a huge game for us. Very very big.

Also playing Wednesday would be a killer because of fatigue issues.

You can kiss the season goodbye if we don't get out of that 8/9 game in my opinion. No way villanova loses in the quarterfinal two years in a row.

Have to get to the 5 seed spot if there is any chance of making the big boy tournament. Or win the big east tournament

I disagree. If we finish 9-9 we will probably be the 6 seed. If we beat providence and Butler but lose in the finals we will probably get in. But we have never come up big in the big east tournament since I've been a fan, so hopefully we do well Wednesday and for the rest of the reg season.

best case would be # 6 seed for us if all stays the same - would rather be in the same side of bracket as PC and Butler instead of Nova, GT and X.

As the 6, we should make it to the final then; playing vs PC who we have beaten twice and then probably Butler in a "revenge" game.

Also, if we are # 6 in the league then our at large chances would be very much alive IMO.

Agree. Which is why Wednesday is a pivotal game. A win moves us to 5-6 in the league, and moves DePaul to 6-7.

Seton Hall Game huge too

Additionally, getting to # 6 would mean we would have to play 3 games in 3 days rather than 4 in 4.

With our short line up, our guys would be running on empty by game 4. Absolutely HUGE to get to 6 for that reason too.

IMO I'd love to come in sixth lol it's a way better side of the bracket to be on

Agreed. Although, I think GT will likely be the #3 seed.

In which case I'd rather be the 5 lol. Obviously I want to play providence and not Georgetown. Then again I might change my tune if we beat up on the hoyas at MSG.

Gtown is a terrible match up for us. I'd honestly rather face Nova. We'd get the SOS boost, have another chance at an elite win, and we have the athletic ability to cause them fits. Gtown has had Harrison's # with one exception for for years.

Best path IMO is the one before the Xavier game.

#6 St John's VS #3 Providence

Then play

#2 Butler (w/o Chrabascz)

for those worried about filling seats for the BET, i just checked online to buy tickets since i will be in NY that week....there are only seats available in 4 sections in the 200's.....it would appear that the tournament is nearing a sellout....and right now you can only buy tickets for the entire tournament...no individual sessions on sale yet....

Remember, where we finish will matter, if the BE only gets 5 teams, we dont want to be the 6th seeded team trying to play catch up during the tourney. We should be aiming for as high a seed as possible.

Thanks for that update. Looks like I'm going to be in town on Friday night and if STJ is playing I'll be going. Will probably have to stubhub/scalp I guess.

It's tough beating the same team 3 times in 1 season. I want no part of Kris Dunn come tourny time. Guys like that catch fire and its over
