Big East Awards Predictions

Moore got snubbed for 6th man award. Polly of uconn got it and in case you were wondering
Moore averaged more points, more rebounds, more assists, more blocks and more steals. And he shot 60% from the field in conference play. And he did it in 5 less minutes a game. ‬other than that tho..

Damn they really couldn't give Posh the award outright?
It's alright, Posh takes stuff like that personally, going to give him motivation in the BE tournament.

1.  Moore got screwed.  Nobody was more valuable off the bench than him this year.

2.  Gotta be concerned that giving Julian most-improved and Posh D-POY may be a make-up call for not giving them POY and ROY.  Hope I'm wrong about that, but wouldn't surprse me if they give ROY to Dawson Garcia and POY to Bouknight.

3.  Anderson has got to get COY, though.

You could make a good case that each of Moore, Earlington, and Wusu all had better seasons off the bench than Polley did. Polley shot 36.8% from the FIELD in conference. And shooting is all he did.

I said in the other thread I didn't think Julian or Posh would get POY and ROY.  It's kinda hard justifying giving the 4th place team that's currently not even a projected tournament team all the league awards.  You think about it you give them COY, POY, ROY, DPOY, and Most Improved, that's ever major award, except for 6th man.  I don't even think they would do that for the 1st place team.

I think Gillipse makes the most sense for player of the year, he was the best player on the best team in the conference.  Garcia and Posh were neck and neck, but I think Garcia gets a slight edge because he played more conference games, and had a much stronger finish.  Posh had a sub-par last 2 games he played in, and missed the last 2 conference games.  I think either Garcia gets it, or it's shared between he and Posh.

Regardless, if they end up getting COY, DPOY, and Most Improved, is not a bad deal for the 4th place team.

Agree on Moore and Earlington.

Agree on Moore and Earlington.

Polley per 40 conference stats:
14.9 pts, 3.2 rebs, .7 asts, .3 stls. 36.8 fg% 36.9 3fg%

Wusu per 40 conference stats:
13.1 pts, 5.8 rebs, 4.5 asts, 1.3 stls 44.1fg% 24.4 3fg%

I am shocked, simply shocked, that Theo John did not get that one

Theo pushing Ackerman out of way following a loss was deal breaker :)

I think the issue with Moore with regard to sixth man award is that he did start a number of games this season , did he not?

He started 2 of 18. Polley started 1 of 16. I doubt that’s the reason but who knows.

I was worried after Saturday night's win that the fact Moore was taken out and did not return would hurt him in the voting for 6th man of the year, and no doubt it did.
We won a major game that he was absolutely a zero factor in, unfortunately poor optics for him and the fact that he got in and played only hurt his stats.
Hopefully, whatever snubs the team has received, and there are a few, will be motivating factors on Thursday afternoon.
Beat the Hall, again.

Perhaps but I would hope not. It’s a season award and by the same token Polley had 0’s across the board in second to last game in big road win at Hall.
