Big East Awards Predictions

This season-Bouknight, 382 minutes in 12 games, 20.2 pts, 5.6 rebChampagnie, 783 minutes in 24 games, 19.9 pts, 7.3 reb

Mike Anderson is the best thing to happen to us since we created our new conference and got the Fox TV money. I'm bemused by our fans that don't realize the incredible luck we fell into when we hired him, he is the best leader of men we've had since Louey C. As lawmanfan perfectly outlined earlier, his work this year is undeniable. I would only add that his recruiting suffers from not wanting men who don't want to do the work it takes to make a team. I never worry about the team being gassed late in games (which I hated with my favorite alum/coach). Or mailing in road games, being selfish, etc. If you support St. John's and don't love Coach Anderson, I feel some empathy, this gentleman gives you a basketball team that makes me proud to support this program

Congratulations to Coach and Posh! Champ had a great season and most improved player and First Team Big East as a sophomore are great honors. There is a very important game to be played tommorrow and ones hopefully on Friday and Saturday. Lets go out and show everyone what we are made of.

For those of you who care, the UCONN board's take on the awards:

https://the-boneyard.com/threads/3-way-tie-for-be-poty-and-no-bouk.169425/

They seem somewhat torqued about Bouknight, which I think is justified.

They don't seem all that upset about Anderson over Hurley, also justified.
Yeah.   If Bouknight had missed half the games he did, he's likely a unanious selection as POY.  But you have to play.  Otherwise its a beauty pagent.

As for COY you can make a reasonable case for both, but CMA did a few things Hurley didn't.  He out performed the preseaon coaches poll by +5 spots (+1 for Hurley), and he won the head to head matchup on their court.
I guess some of them want to point to the Depaul loss as the reason Hurley should get it but that's highly selective.  It discounts the facts that we won at Uconn, and beat Nova.

"Sorry Coach" :)

I went back and read some earlier posts on the UCONN board, and with the exception of some of the knee jerk reactions towards Hurley after some tough losses, I found the majority of the posters to be levelheaded and fair. Especially as it relates to post season awards.
Over the past few weeks, at different intervals they had Hurley, CMA, Wright and even Ewing at one point, as COY. Some posters did think Hurley deserved it, but most seemed fine with CMA as the COY.

This is so silly.

They need to do a re-count if this happens.  You can't say 3 players were the MVP, that defeats the whole entire purpose of having an MVP, that's what the first team selections are for.
Especially weird since Robinson-Earl and Mamu were the only unanimous 1st team vote getters

It's ridiculous.  Should immediately change to a point based system where coaches vote for top 3 or 5.
