BET - Wed., Mar. 7, 7 p.m., Georgetown (8) vs. St. John's (9), FS1, Radio TBA

You wouldn’t expect a Gtown Team Coached by Ewing to play any other way . Hoyas got a little chippy when their fate was sealed . I knew GTown could not sustain that 3 Pt shooting in the second half . And , their young guards wilted in the second half . It’s been their Achilles heel all season . Great win and Mullin used Simon , Ponds and Clarke to great advantage . Owens had a nice game and Trimble contributed early 3’s in first half . On to Xavier . It’s unfair to have to play barely 12 hours later but, it’s better than going home tonight .
My 3 most-hated original BE programs have always been UCONN, G*TOWN, ‘CUSE—in no particular order.
A great win tonight!!!
This is a very special team. MJM coined them the “#noquitkids”. And they are that in spades!
We can beat Xavier. Let’s do it.
On a run here we go.
Never say never.
Let’s Go Johnnies...!
I wish I could figure out how to put #noquitkids in my signature :)
Funny. Great hashtag!

The Mano Cornuto...

Just got home from the game (well, after a couple of glasses of wine at my local spot, that is), so I'm too tired and too emotionally spent to read the prior posts on this big win (which I'll get around to reading tomorrow). Great contributions by everyone, but just want to give special kudos to Chris Mullin for putting Justin Simon back in the game with something like six minutes to go in the first half despite his having two fouls. The Hoyas were threatening to blow the game open at the point, seemingly scoring at will, and Mullin called on Simon to stop the momentum, and that's exactly what he did. Then, in the second half, Simon's energy was contagious. Can't say enough about his contribution ... and, again, about CM's gambling that Simon wouldn't pick up his third foul before the half ended.

Great 2nd half.....really love this team. Just praying the core four return. They "get it" now and with just a little help, they could be dangerous next year.

Let's be dangerous tomorrow!

Just got home after watching most of the double header. I thought the crowd tonight was good given the weather. What was up with all the baby fouls being called on both sides. The refs need to let the kids play. The calls were getting out of control. This team and Mullin have evolved. The confidence these kids play with I have not seen from any recent team. I think part of it has to do with Mullin allowing them to play loose and is not yelling at them for every mistake. Also what is up with Yakwe? I thought we could have used him for a minute or two when we were picking up fouls every 30 seconds.

These guys are special. I think they’ll return. Next year and give us a skilled-experienced-no quit core.
Whether we win tomorrow or not—and my gut says there’ll win in a stunner—Mullin is emerging in OJT-mode (on-the-job-training) as an instinctual-motivating model whose HOF career became a fact through grit, hard-work, and a let-it-all-hang out spirit.
Let’s go Johnnies.

go to your profile. among other ways go up to where it says "Welcome mjmherjr" and click on your name. Then look down on the right where there is a little red square with a pencil icon. Click that. Then click "Appearance" on the left. There you will see "Forum Signature" when you are done click the Update button.

They have the ACC and SEC scores, but when I went to B.E. scores.
Here's what it said:
Scores for March 7, 2018
No games on this date.

I'll go to cbssportsline.com or foxsports.com

Amazing win. Hopefully we can keep it going tomorrow, but if not maybe we'll be the first ever losing NIT team. Glad this team was able to keep the season relevant.

Agree with your point of team playing loose under Mullin which really helps in post season play where a lot of teams play tight. though that was a problem under Lou in post season we usually seemed to play very tight because Lou seemed tight. Saw Mo with a big smile on his face when it was still a close game that was still to be determined.

I saw Big East scores on ESPN's site earlier, and I still see 'em there now.

Yeah they have it now, but before they didn't.
I thought it was an error, so I went to a different conf scoreboard, then came back and same thing.

Just found it odd that they had every other conf that played but not the B.E. scores. Maybe an error on their part and fixed it.

Got back from the Garden doubleheader after a great night of basketball. I have loved this season (even with its roller coaster of ups and downs) and hope that it will continue after tomorrow. I think we have a decent shot against Xavier but no matter what happens this team is to be praised for the never quit approach that they have played with this season. This is a very likable group and I hope that anyone who can come back from this team does come back because they are on the verge of doing something really special in the near future.

As for tonight's game everyone deserves a ton of praise but I will single out Justin Simon who turned the game around and played brilliantly after returning from sitting because of two early fouls. There is much more to say but it is late and I just bought a ticket for tomorrow and need to go to sleep so I can make it back to the garden on time.

Defense, defense! Maybe not in the first half, especially all the "open" threes for Govan and M. Derrickson. Second half defense was the reason we blew the hated Hoyas away.
Have to love the player's poise and confidence even after trailing by 10 in the first half
Excellent second half.by Clark and Simon.
Only two turnovers in the second half for the Johnnies.
Trimble didn't hurt us, showed a few different offensive moves.
Thought we would never stop Govan inside
Congrats to Mullin and his coaches who have been criticized all season

You know Coach Mack did not want to play us.. We win tomorrow. BTW, anyone know if any recruits made it to the garden?

Let me repeat the simple message I posted 5 pages back:

We can win this game today.
