BET - Wed., Mar. 7, 7 p.m., Georgetown (8) vs. St. John's (9), FS1, Radio TBA

Fun game, offense on both sides were hot late in the 1st half. We made great adjustments at the half and earned the win. Rest tonight and play Xavier with house money. If we win we got an NIT bid, if not, we won a few big games since 2/1 and hopefully have re-recruited our team. I hope Ponds takes a good look at the draft and all his options. He deserves that. Ultimately I think honest evaluation encourages him to work on strengthening his core, working on his D, and a consistent jumper. But whatever he wants to do I will support. This team looks much better than we did when we were winning in the early non conference schedule, and Simon, Clark, Ponds, etc. deserve their credit for working hard and keeping their heads up
Not sure why we bring in Amar at this point instead of Trimble who is better ball handler and foul shooter?
Amar did a nice job defending.

Ahmed and Amar played really gritty games that will not show on stat sheet. Should not be forgotten.[/b

And Trimble hit a couple of shots we needed in 1st half. Everyone contributed tonight, including our coaching staff. Hope they all sleep well tonight and play loose tomorrow, Xavier will be feeling some pressure.

Shout-out to Amar. Playing some meaningful minutes lately and solid post defense. The only guy tonight who could stop Govan from scoring at will.

This game proved tonight exactly what we are missing. Imagine guys like Govan and Derrickson playing on our current roster? We can do special things next year if we get just those couple of pieces. Let's get it done. Bring on X!!!

NIT? Hello no. Win the BET, NCAA here we come!
Just watched to Mullin on the post game on FS1. He was excited, engaged, and funny.. And he never lost that NYC accent, and swagger.
“See you at Noon”

Two hours on LIRR to get in from Mineola. On train, who knows how long to get back.

Worth it!

Agree that Amar played very well tonight, particularly defending Govan in the second half. However, my post was made after Clark fouled out with a minute to go, at which point ball handling and foul shooting was more important than defense.

Good win for the good guys! Congrats and thanks to the players and coaches. They all persevered through a tough stretch. However, while your here, you've come this far why not win the next one as well. Nothing to lose and everything to gain. Beat Xavier!

Crazy night, snow storm electric went on and off, satellite went out. Ran computer via HDMI3 cable. At least the Johnnies made it worth it.

Ahmed has matured into a nice player as this season's progressed.

Mullin just tied Norm with 2 BET wins. One more than Lavin if anyone was wondering. Give props to Norm I think we only made the BET twice while he was coach.

You wouldn’t expect a Gtown Team Coached by Ewing to play any other way . Hoyas got a little chippy when their fate was sealed . I knew GTown could not sustain that 3 Pt shooting in the second half . And , their young guards wilted in the second half . It’s been their Achilles heel all season . Great win and Mullin used Simon , Ponds and Clarke to great advantage . Owens had a nice game and Trimble contributed early 3’s in first half . On to Xavier . It’s unfair to have to play barely 12 hours later but, it’s better than going home tonight .

When he plays under control and lets the play come to him, he plays well. If he forces things that's when I think he struggles. My son has nicknamed him Bashir "No Fear" Ahmed!

Congrats to one of the hardest working teams in a long time.  It's been said here 100+ times but had we not been stung by the Wilson and LoVett defections,  this would have been a post season team.  16 wins under the circumstances is actually an accomplishment by Chris Mullin and staff.  He now needs to retain and get players and never look back.
As for the game, we hung with Georgetown even with their incredible shooting in the first half.  I think we all hoped that would not continue in the second half and, after listening to Mullin during a time out, it was obvious he and the staff knew what they had to do - stop Derrickson and contain Govan. It was executed to perfection in the second half.
This was a game where everyone shared the ball and the balanced scoring is proof of that.  I ask all my paesans to give Xavier the mal'occhio for tomorrow's game!

Yes Otis and
1.as w GTown & 2 close regular season losses, our kids will be motivated to payback X;
2.our kids are in shape enough to play and win two games in about 20 hours
It’s doable
As others have posted, great job Shamorie, Marvin, Tarik, Ahmed, Justin...and ”the bench”!

Some of us including me might have questioned it a while ago but I think it's safe to say our starting 5 and even Amar are the best conditioned team stamina wise in the conference. The amount of minutes they have played lately is truly remarkable

Good job by Mullin and the staff tonite with substitutions and strategy. Congratulations to the team for carrying it out.

Hope the recruit made it to the game as it was a nice performance and a good win with a nice crowd even with the snow storm.
