BET Game 1- Providence -Thursday, 2:30pm Fox Sports 1

Way to step up today Harrison. What a brutal performance by the seniors.

As much as I like Harrison it is clear to me that he 's not an NBA player. Never saw anyone have his shot blocked when he drives to the basket, much too slow.

@BrandonTierney: Very perplexing how poorly St. John's historically plays in the BE Tourney...in their home arena. Odd, and very disappointing...

so true

@NYPost_Brazille: St. John's has now lost its last two games by a combined 54 points. Ouch. #sjubb

The puzzling things that surround this team can't be fathomed.. DLO sports a first rate shiner that looks like he went 10 rounds with Mayweather.. Balamou's absence is never explained although, the announcers advanced ' maybe a practice session scrap?" DLO, Greene and Pointer gave nothing today. They should have paid for tickets.

Jordan doesn't start the biggest game of the year and has been the catalyst for the 2nd half of the season.. What's going on in the locker room?

Frankly, at this point it is all moot..

They really need to practice more there. It's far from a home court advantage.

That goes back to Louie. I never understood it back then, and still really don't understand it.

Good observations just hoping it didn't take you 4 years to realize that. Hope he has a great career overseas like Walter Berry did.

This is what got me off the Lavin bandwagon. Way too much drama for a college team.

That's why I bet heavy on our opponents when we are favored. I'm only half-demoralized

I'm upset but nowhere near as mad as I was last year. We're a lock and won't be in the play in game. I care 100X more about winning in the real tournament so hopefully we rest up.

I really wanted to go to the game tomorrow after work, though.

It's not a home court advantage, it's a recruiting tool. One that's losing it's luster with all the non-St. John's games played there now. It's rarely a home crowd because other team's fans make a long weekend out of coming to the city to see their team.

Jack, I agree with you. For most of the 2nd half of the season, he has no lift or spring when going to the Hoop. I think his injuries have made him even slower with no hop..

And, despite him being the 2nd leading scorer in SJU history, he took a lot of shots to get there over his career. And, unfortunately, never on in a BIG GAME.. i like his hustle, his moxie but, too many times he doesn't deliver. As much as he shows competitive fire in some games, he also is capable of disappearing if things go bad..

Have you heard of the Knicks and Rangers?

i agree that Jordan not starting reeks of something. Very odd. Not ready to jump off a cliff. They have relied very heavily on perimeter shooting which has been their bread and butter for a month. When the perimeter game is not here, limitations are exacerbated. Providence is a very good team that we beat with hot shooting twice this year.

Embarrassing. After an a** kicking, that was really, really, bad

How can you not show up against a #1 seed (Nova) and a B.E Tourney against a team we beat twice. Cooley had his team well prepared to win today, especially with their defense. How about one shot and out with all white shirts under the boards.
You know I've been telling my friends that teams should not look forward to play us in the NCAA Tourney. I take that back.

D'Angelo is not a big game player. I know I'll be criticized for saying it, but it's 100% true.

After watching a good amount of college basketball this year with this team and others I think I have a decent perspective on the team and the coach. Lavin isn't a bad coach actually. I've come to appreciate him more this year than prior years and appreciate the enormity of the challenge he faces coaching at SJU. He is a good coach and a good advocate for his college players. He teaches life lessons and is a very positive person. All good attributes. Is he the best.. No, but candidly if he was he wouldn't be here. While we have some decent senior players on the team we have no talent with size/length and you can't win in the top 25-35 programs without it so its not surprising we got crushed against Nova and Providence. Not the coaches faulf and candidly not the players fault. We are simply just not that good enough to play big when it matters. Providence and Nova were simply much more talented than our team and it showed on the court. Next year will be really tough to watch and expect to be this years

@rumbleSBN: Lavin on why Rysheed didn't start: "Older group. Jamal's been playing well." #

Huh?
