Effort. Before the half team dug in and we looked good. Kids turn their heads and don't rotate out or close out on shooters. Ponds and Simon are biggest culprits besides Dixon who is a disaster.
Should have hammered them, but oh well.
A win is a win. 4-0

Close on Ponds and on bench pointss
Thank god you’re a bit rusty. If you were right we would have lost.

Great a reason for me to dislike him more. Maybe he wasn't mad at Mullin. From what I can see kid just doesn't like putting his hands up unless it is to shoot.

And worst defender I have seen in my time as a fan. Blatant almost

That was Trimble.

Dixon took the bad shot inside. Trimble took 2 good shots that he missed terribly. Trimble also plays hard. We have enough offense which is why you will see Trimble getting mins

Thought it was Trimble with the corner air ball.

Not too worried. This Cal team had a lot of rest. Looked to have a bit more energy than we did. Yet we still on a horrible night, won the game. I was disappointed that we rarely if ever pressed in this game to take more time off the clock for Cals offensive sets. Still think we need to go 8/9 deep. Not 6 or 7.. we finally have a bench, use it! Anyone know what time tomorrows game will be?

Clark had a subpar game but great to see him save the game on the free throw line. The players underestimated the Cal kids tonight. My niece is an economics professor at Cal and she's constantly amazed on how smart the students are. Kudos to the Cal kids for playing a very smart game but I am surprised the Cal coach didn't post up the Dutchman more often. Dink was right! We were going to win this one.;) St. John's had a nice contingent at Barclay.
Next game team needs to listen to inspiring music.

Trimble has a reputation of being a good 3 point shooter. Seems like he misses whenever I watch him!

Team got punched in the mouth, but fought back. That's the good news. The bad news is that they make everyone look better than they are. If Ponds didn't have one of the best last 5 or 6 minutes of a game I have seen in a while, then this would have been a really bad loss. This team plays defense like their coach did. Only when extremely urgent.

Ponds in addition to the 32 points on 15 shots, had 5 assists & zero turnovers. Drawing fouls down the stretch is also invaluable.

A positive is that Ponds passed more the last two games and I believe that makes our offense better.

Trimble shot low 30s last year, which isn't very good. However, a lot of optimists on the board.

Coach was looking away, Dix was pumping up Shamorie then was reaching into the huddle over St Jean. He couldn’t quite reach, so he straightened up, tried to get closer, then reached back in. About then Coach kind of looked over, don’t think he was focused on Mikey. Huddle broke, Mikey gave Ponds another tap. Didn’t look like anything, but gold star for you for your level of concentration/intensity while viewing the game!

Now because he is Ponds and not our 6th man it doesn't get mentioned a lot but he needs to pay more attention on D.
He won game for us and I love watching him but if he wasn't as good as he is on offense I would complain about him instead of picking on Dixon.
