Cal shot 57% & a lot of the shots were easy ones. Switching on every play is formula for problems.

An ugly win, but it looks as pretty as a blowout because it ‘counts’ and maybe teaches a lesson.
Ponds was magnificent tonight with, as someone said, “ice in his veins” with the game on the line.
Take the win, but pitiful SJ defense. Ponds a savage!
Totally agree. That was some piss poor defense and Ponds bailed them out. And you can see their lack of size will allow mediocre teams to hang around. That 7 foot Dutch kid hurt them. The big kid for Bowling Green hurt them.

This would have been a bad loss.

I do think if we had Keita we win this game more easily because Kelly and the Vanover kid would not have done as well with him in there.

Close on Ponds and on bench pointss

We've got to learn to mix up our defensive sets.

Off topic, but Xavier lost 87-79 to Auburn, but took the Tigers to OT. Much closer than final score.

Not my favorite performance, but honestly we are 50X better than this... poor defense and rebounding. Too long figuring out their zones. Credit to Cal, they were well- organized and shot the lights out. Still can’t beat us on a bad day. Win and move on...

Take the win a move on. As we have seen already, upsets this early in the season happen.

Greenberg said they have great guard play, but will they guard? Pretty much going to be the story of our season if things don't change a bit.

will make us tough to beat with the way we can score

My daughter changed channel before I could rewind, but did it look like there was an issue with Mullin and Dixon? Looked like Dixon wasn't putting his hand in the pile at the end of the TO and Mullin shot him a look. But it happened too fast for me to be 100 percent.

Roberts has shown in his his small sample that he is an active, athletic and aggressive defensive player. We could used a little of that tonight

Effort. Before the half team dug in and we looked good. Kids turn their heads and don't rotate out or close out on shooters. Ponds and Simon are biggest culprits besides Dixon who is a disaster.
