Asst coach discussion
Ok, enough due diligence and hire Steve DeMeo for last AC spot this week please. :)
Is the sense that he is still a strong possibility?

It appears two guys are still in running, but we’ll see. Anderson plays these things close to vest as he should

Seems like the delay in naming the last assistant bodes well for Borman.

Hope not, much prefer DeMeo

Me too Paultz
DeMeo is still young but has a wealth of experience as an assistant and head coach
Borman's got good potential but his resume just doesn't compare to DeMeo's right now
We want DeMeo, CMA
Please sign him up ASAP

Agree MR and DeMeo seems to be a high-powered recruiting type guy with deep N.Y. Metro roots as well as a good x & o coach.
Would be a fab get in my humble view.

CD either one would be Fab get IMO. Each would bring their own unique strengths to the position. Borman solidly still in the mix at the moment.

Hey Monte. I've got no problem with Borman and perhaps his AAU link can bear multiple fruit (although it has risks), somewhat like Penny's has.
DeMeo does seem ideal to me, but in Iron Mike we trust.
Lol.

Borman a lot younger, and personally I wouldn’t mind adding someone younger to the staff. Especially in a mostly recruiting role. More importantly, Borman has an immense amount of respect from not only the kids in his program, but from the parents as well. He is a coach, but also a mentor and confidant to many of these young men currently in high school. Those same young men who we recruit to play for us. OTOH, DeMeo has an impressive resume and a vowel at the end of his name lol. Like I said, I’d be fine with either, but like Borman a little bit more.

Agree Monte, either would be a great addition.
One would think a decision will be made soon.
If Borman, would the announcement be delayed until July because the AAU season finishes then?
I don’t know how that works.
These are exciting times about St. John’s hoops because, it seems that decisions are finally in good hands.

Per DalyDoseofHoops
I’ve also heard St. John’s has reached out to Steve DeMeo, who is at Northwest Florida State (a JUCO) and still has strong ties to the area. Some of you may remember him from his time on @COACH_MOCASSARA’s staff at #Hofstra in the beginning of this decade. #sjubb

So one has to assume as Monte noted it is a two man race between Borman and DeMeo

A choice between 2 very qualified guys. Whoever MA decides is the best fit for his team, I am fine with it.

A total wild guess...it's Borman.
He's a solid young talent and those AAU relationships have clear potential to be very beneficial to St. John's in the future.

The longer this drags out, the more likely it will be Borman
I would be happy with either one but my preference would be DeMeo
Much more experience as assistant and head coach with great recruiting ties

Opinion is divided on the Board although it seems a shared sentiment that 'either would be fine'.
I agree Andrew. P.S.: Oops, I meant Mark!
But it seems like a razor-thin call.
I'm very happy it's 'above my pay grade'.
Lol.
