Marquette down 81-70 to Nebraska-Omaha with 4 minutes left. If the score holds, it would be the first really bad loss for the league this year (It would also give Marquette both of the league's losses, FWIW).

I am anxiously awaiting Otis' response given that he has gushed over Wojo at Marquette all off season and destroys Lavin every time SJU loses to a lesser opponent.

Surely Otis applies his reasoning consistently and without bias.

Otis gushed over Wojos great recruiting class just as you did for coach Lavin if you recall " I can see us ending up with the number 3 class when all is said and done".
Again Otis deals in facts while you continue to 1.dream, 2. Smoke crack, 3. Hallucinate , 4. Refuse to accept reality.
Sorry to say but the problem is not Otis or Avonbarksdale or Johnnnyfan or myself or any of the doubters. We don't make and change the line up, control the erratic substitution patterns , design the plays , recruit European diamonds in the rough, academic risks, etc. but ask yourself who does?

Who needs to face reality now?

Reality check for those who need it.
Meanwhile bubblelicious NC State go crushed by the worst team in the ACC, Boston College.
Just love it.

@friarblog: Croshere just said that he spoke with some NBA Scouts who said Dunn is a lock to be Top 20 pick #pcbb

If PC loses Dunn in addition to Carson D & Henton, Cooley has his work cut out for him. Misery likes company. :)

Not surprised at all re: Dunn. Didn't we already assume as much? He's more likely top 10.

Don't forget that Harris already claimed he was going to the NBA. Whether they will take him is another matter but sounds like he has no intention of returning.

The big east is shaping up to be a little more top heavy next year. Obviously way early to tell, but right now it looks like nova and Georgetown will be on top, I'm not familiar with what butler will look like roster wise next year, Xavier will be good again, SJU, PC, Creighton, seton hall, Marquette are all a bunch of question marks. DePaul probably more of the same.

I agree but at the same time it's impossible to predict this stuff. Most people thought the league would do worse than last year when be basically had 2 great teams and a few bubble teams.

I'd say this year....for expectations....
Nova- as expected or slightly better than expected
Butler- much better than expected
GTown- as expected or slightly better
Providence- better than expected
SJU- as expected or better
Xavier- as expected or better
SHU- about as expected, maybe a little better or worse
Marquette- about as expected, maybe worse
Creighton- about as expected
DePaul- as expected

RPI this year vs. last
Nova- 3/5 (+2)
Butler- 23/145 (+122)
GTown- 24/66 (+42)
Providence- 21/43 (+22)
SJU- 36/65 (+29)
Xavier- 39/48 (+9)
SHU- 72/125 (+53)
Marquette- 149/90 (-59)
Creighton- 132/10 (-122)
DePaul- 166/151 (-15)

+279
-196
Net: +83 (on average +8.3 spots per team.... pretty good for a league many thought would do worse this year)

@EvanDaniels: Nice pick up for S.H. Amarveer Singh (http://t.co/fXUECAjBG9) RT @AdamZagoria Veer Singh has committed to Seton Hall. Story coming.

@JasonSpells: #Butler expecting F Andrew Chrabascz to play some tomorrow night against #Georgetown (has been out with broken hand) #BIGEAST

NIT tickets on living social for &15 for anyone interested (or any SHU fans reading the board).

i think if georgetown wins tonight and providence beats butler on saturday at home, butler will finish in 4th place, with an 11-7 record.....(we could finish 11-7 also but would lose the tiebreaker since they swept us)....that would put us against butler in the 4/5 game in the BET.....

georgetown up by 6 at halftime...
