Around the Big East

I believe Ellenson has a brother at Marquette...... Good job, but certainly an easy sell.

MJ

Your attempt to trivialize Henry Ellenson's commitment to Marquette lacks merit. Yeah, Henry's brother is a member of the Marquette team but he is ranked as a 5* player as the #17 in this recruiting cycle.

Henry had offers from all of the top schools( Duke, Kentucky, UNC and others) but chose to play in the Big East Conference which is the same league which many on this site would have you believe has caused StJohn's to swing and miss over the past 2 recruiting cycles.

Henry Ellenson has the potential to be a big time player in Big East but he is not even the top ranked recruit that has committed this cycle to play at a Big East school.

Again you actually just proved his point.

All you did was restate what we already knew. To claim that he had offers from X, Y and Z does nto disprove what mj wrote so not sure what your point is.

And almost every person IN THE WORLD had him pegged for Marquette when his brother transferred to Marquette.

Go look it up. Why were there stories written about Ellenson potentially to Marquette as soon as his brother transferred there?

Because it became an instant connection.

To mention it is not to trivialize it but rather to point out a fact that everyone AGREES with and for you to ignore it shows exactly what you are about.

I didn't trivialize anything. Nor does it lack any merit.

Most recruiting guru's felt very strongly about the younger Ellenson attending Marquette once the elder Ellenson decided to transfer there. It was fairly, common knowledge how this recruitment would end.

Some of y'all are easily made of glass. Windex-clean. Unfortunately, credibility is lost when it's that clear.

I believe Ellenson has a brother at Marquette, if I'm not mistaken.

EDIT: I just read the article. I knew the younger Ellenson had a sibling affiliated with Marquette. Good job, but certainly an easy sell.

I don't think it matters why he went there. At least, it doesn't matter to me. What matters is that it is very positive for the league to get high-quality recruits. The Big East is in dire danger of falling off the map into mid-major status if it isn't already there. It's absolutely critically important for schools in the league to get top recruits and then to go prove it on the court against the Power 5 schools. And it can't just be one school with one player once in a while. We need 3 or 4 powerhouse programs or it's lights out for bigtime basketball in the non-football world.

Good for Marquette. I hope that we are just as successful. Nova, Georgetown and Providence too.

Bad luck. The good news is that it comes at their deepest position. Henton and Harris figured to play most of the forward minutes anyway.

Never said it did matter why he went. Just stating why he went. I'm glad he's a part of the conference.

Huh? Marquette. Not Providence, Marillac. lol

Sorry, I was attempting to respond to Paultz's post about Providence.

@JonRothstein: Duke, Wisconsin, Georgetown, and VCU will headline the 2015 2K Sports Classic at MSG, multiple sources told @CBSSports. Story coming.

We're right in the mix, as expected. Funny, last year every single writer had Marquette winning, and I believe the coaches' poll as well had them winning the league. I am sort of surprised at how low the expectations are for Seton Hall. It's not like they are 100% freshman.
