Its not bad luck. This team created the dilemma by playing woefully at the end of too many games this season! They had the future in their hands as late as the Nova game.

@BrendanPrunty: Also: Didn't take a mindreader to sense that Seton Hall players were not thrilled with Edwin's decision not to play tonight.

Wait till next year when Whitehead and Tiny join the romper room.

Yep...Edwin, Teague and Oliver gone next year...If Whitehead or their fans think they are winning next year they are delusional

You know what is an interesting comparison. We consider the last 2 years of the Jarvis/Clark regime plus the 6 years of the Roberts regime as arguably some of the darkest years. That 8 year stretch of not making the NCAA's, NCAA sanctions and embarrassing revelations and some terrible basketball.

Do you realize that it has been 8 years since SHU fired Louis Orr after taking SHU (picked to finish dead last in the BE in 2005-6) to a 10-8 league record, upset of Pitt @Pitt at the end the regular season to sneak into the NCAA's as a 10th seed? And that is the last NCAA appearance for SHU. In other words they are the verge, barring a unforeseen run in the BE Tourney, to going thru exactly what SJU did (4 years under Gonzo and now 4 years under Willard)?

Just interesting. And now they think a staff of Tiny, Hill and Antigua is the envy of the BE...

Certainly the envy of big east reporters :) They must be salivating over the stories they will be doing next year

Am I missing something with the Whitehead thing? I've never heard of him being a chemistry killer or anything. By all accounts seems like a good kid. I dont think by himself he'll turn Seton Hall to a NCAA team but I dont see him turning them into a circus. Morton could be bad news how ever

By all reports, he is a good kid...but fact is when he made his selection he justified it based on fact that Lavin wouldn't commit to him being "the man"...On a junior/senior laden team w/a top 25 soph guard (as good or better than him) it was a bit unrealistic on his part - especially since his people reportedly reinitiated discussions with Lavin.

That said, he has a better chance of being the man at SHU as they will be losing their core players. So, if that was his goal he made a good decision. I am not expert on him but hard to believe that, as a freshmen, he is going to turn them into winners.

Ii think some people are sleeping on Carrington. He put up 42 on CTK the other today. They will make a nice back court. I have to agree, probably not good enough to make the NCAA's.

Carrington is not that good.

Plenty of average D1 college players put up a bunch of points in high school.

I'm rooting for Marquette. Providence is ahead of us in RPI, and still has a game against Creighton. We need to beat Marquette in our final game anyway, so in my scenario we'd end up tied with them in BE record and get the nod since we'd have swept. Also, we may end up facing Marquette in our first game of the BE tournament.

Gotta root for Marquette, especially after their loss to Nova today. We still have to beat them at their place. Our fate is in our hands. As for Providence, we need them to lose their last two. We have no say in what happens to them. We can only scoreboard watch.

Neither is Phil Greene but he starts for us.
