Providence beats Creighton on the road.

DePaul over Georgetown

Seton Hall beats Xavier

Butler leading Villanova late in the Pavillion

Crazy night in the Big East!

Looks like we're headed for a date with Gtown in 8-9 game in the Big East Tournament.

Seton Hall and Providence both still have DePaul on their schedules, so we are going to need to win both home games, and get help, to move out of this game.

What, the game was at G-Town? I was thinking G-Town was on the road where they suck.
Maybe DePaul can beat either shu or PC

Strange

Big East Coast Bias‏ @becb_sbn

Creighton has suspended Maurice Watson Jr. from all athletic-related activities per the release

Well, that's a new one.

for "alleged actions that are contrary to University policies and core values," Creighton announced Wednesday.

He is being arrested for first-degree sexual assault. Sad turn of events.

Yeah I figured it had to be serious to get suspended from a team you can't even play for. Very sad.

Providence's comeback win over Marquette virtually ends our hopes for the 7th spot.

Seton Hall plays Georgetown this week, and Providence has DePaul.

Even if Marquette and Xavier lose out, we can't win any tiebreakers with them.

Looks like Gtown, at 7pm on Wed. March 8th.

Don't expect them to but if they want a chance they need to win @ Creighton

and then Providence. If we lose to Creighton then Knight might as well set up the thread.

Tough loss for Marquette today. They are 8-8 and now finish with @Xavier and Creighton at home. It's not impossible that they drop both of those games.

Earlier in the week I was going to predict they will be the fourth team playing Wednesday. We'll see.

Oh and Providence will be playing for the 5 seed in the BET and a bid to the dance at MSG on the last day.

Good game between Butler and Xavier but like the Nova game earlier this week, Butler just blitzed X in the last few minutes by seriously cranking up their defense. In the Mr. Obvious column, X misses Sumner big time.

They really do miss their PG. Someone noted Xavier just lost 5 games in a row for first time in 35 years.

Bluiett was out for a couple of those games too, and may not be 100% physically.

Xavier, Marquette, Seton Hall, and Providence all 8-8 going into the final week. 4-way tie for fourth.

It will probably go to Jay Wright, but the case can certainly be made for Chris Holtzman to win Big East Coach of the Year.

If our Johnnies win last two and we finish .500, I would expect Chris to get some consideration.

Not BE, but did anyone catch today's Cincinnati-UCF game and see UCF's soph 7'-6" Tacko Fall from Senegal? I hadn't heard about him, but the kid's averaging about 12 points and 10 rebounds, and has a .736 FG percentage (although his FT average is a paltry .460). He's also averaging 2.5 blocks (should be more; guess no one drives on him). And unlike Manute Bol, he looks pretty sturdy, not like a Thoroughbred foal standing on wobbly legs.

Didn't see today's game, but I have seen him. He is an interesting player. You're right, he has more bulk to him than Bol and runs pretty well. I would say he is comparable to a Gheorghe Mureșan.

Ahmed deservedly IMO made BE weekly honor roll.

From SJU press release;

"Ahmed finds a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the third time this season after averaging 18.5 points and 5.0 rebounds in a pair of contests against the Golden Eagles and Hoyas. Ahmed kicked off the week with 21 points, his third 20-point performance of the year, on 7-of-14 shooting in Milwaukee. Against the Hoyas on Saturday, Ahmed scored 14 of his 16 points in the second half to help the Red Storm outlast Georgetown in a thriller down the stretch."
