Cooley can be a pain in the ass, but he gets his team to play hard. Recovering from SJU loss & winning on road to avoid down spiral was impressive.

Kyron Cartwright is a very nice 3-Star upperclassman.

UVA over Nova 31-22 at half. Local kid, Jerome from Iona Prep, playing well for Virginia w 9 points. What defense Wahoos play.

No. 1 Villanova came back to beat No. 12 Virginia on Villanova's first game-winning buzzer beater since last year's national championship game. After trailing by 9 points at the half and shooting just 18 percent from the field, the Wildcats outscored the Cavaliers by 11 while shooting 72 percent in the second half.

feel bad for the kid, saw it happen right in front of my seats. You could tell as soon as it happened. They had to carry him off to the locker room. Couldnt bear any weight on the leg at all. Non contact also it looked like, just landed oddly.

Wish him luck. Hope his rehab goes smoothly He is a heck of a player

St. John's guard Shamorie Ponds wins his fourth Big East Rookie of Week honor, one more than Creighton's Justin Patton. #sjubb

From SJU press release;

QUEENS, N.Y. (Jan. 30, 2017) – After averaging 22.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and two steals per game in a 1-1 week for the Red Storm, Shamorie Ponds has been named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, it was announced this morning by the league office.

Ponds, the sixth-leading scorer in the conference at 17.2 points per game, garners the recognition for the fourth time this season, a league high. The 6-foot-1 guard is one of just three players in the conference to collect the award more than once this season, pacing three-time winner Justin Patton of Creighton and two-time recipient Kamar Baldwin of Butler.

This week's @AP_Top25 has @NovaMBB 4, @ButlerMBB 16, @BluejayMBB 22 w/ @XavierMBB receiving votes #BIGEASThoops

Sumner (assuming serious injury), Watson injuries obviously hurt BE going forward.

Sumner of Xavier likely out for year with torn acl. Like Watson a brutal loss. Xavier very ordinary without him

I was talking to some other fans while on the LIRR after the game and we were all hoping it wasn't an ACL like Watson. Just brutal.

A guy sitting next to me seats (he got them from his brother who was out of town), although a St. John's fan was talking up Sumner all game. Felt he was underrated and the real key to that team. Bummer.
