Around the Big East

MRI confirmed torn ACL for Watson, Creighton PG. Feel so bad for him. A big blow to the team & BE.

The injury to Watson shows how one injury can really derail a teams hopes for a shot at a possible big run in the NCAA's. Creighton is still a good team with a lot of weapons and a good coach but they just lost one of the best college point guards in the country and those are really hard to replace even if you are Duke or Kentucky. Kind of reminds me what happened to the Raiders when they lost Derek Carr but at least they get him back in the future.

Yukon needs the spotlight of renewed Big East rivalries more than the Big East schools need Yukon.

Yukon today stands at a record of 7 wins and 10 losses overall and 2 wins and 3 losses in the irrelevant American Conference.

UConn is being trivialized in the American Conference.

Kind of like BC got trivialized in the ACC.

69-49 final.

I stand to differ. Uconn sought affiliation with just about every conference out there and were rejected at every turn. If content with just Big East would still be in an ultra competitive basketball league with many natural regional rivalries.

Sorry did it to themselves. No sympathy from me. Shame because football team is awful and that is main reason why UConn parted ways with conference

UConn really got screwed, I aint complaining tho

A year or so ago I attended a meeting at which an individual with the title "Senior Associate Athletic Director" at an ACC school was present. He confirmed my suspicion that the 2003 lawsuit filed by (now US Senator) former Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal against the ACC poisoned the chances of UConn ever being admitted to the ACC. Blumenthal's lawsuit was eventually dismissed but the ACC paid $1M nuisance value to avoid appeal.

So no, I do not believe that Conn U "got screwed" in the conference reshuffle by not be included in the ACC. The good ole boys in the Carolina have long memories. UConn fans can that Mr. Blumenthal For being in the American Athletic Association.

Below is a link about the 2003 lawsuit.

Add ExCuse and Pitt to that "trivialized" and "irrelevant" list. Seeing Yuconnvicts being pummeled by SMU was a thing of beauty.
