JUCO big man Brady Ernst committed to the Musketeers.

Ernst chose Xavier over offers from Seton Hall, Pittsburgh, Georgia Tech, and Minnesota. He's currently averaging 12 points (65.4% FG), 8.8 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks in 22.2 minutes per game at Indian Hills Community College in Iowa.

Listed at 6-foot-10, 230-pounds, Ernst should provide added depth and size in the post for the Musketeers. He will be able to play right away when he arrives on campus for the 2017-18 school year and will have three years of eligibility left.

That sounds an awful lot like EXACTLY what we need.

We'd want to run him out of town when he averaged 3 and 3 for us as a soph like he probably will at Xavier.

But it's Xavier, so he'll develop and average 13 and 9 as a senior there and kill us in one of the games.

Patton of Creighton is BE Freshman of Week

Desi Rodriguez of Seton Hall Player of Week

LoVett made honor roll.

Justin Patton and Shamorie Ponds have each won this award 3 times so far Per Zags

New AP Poll

Seton Hall had votes to equate to being # 27.

Crazy Lovett hasn't won freshmen of the week yet. If Patton is eligble then so is he.

Noticed during the Villanova / Xavier game, as well at G'Toen yesterday, that all three teams gave their ineligible players wearing suits & ties.

Classy.

We should do the same (or at least the Mullin '16 / Ichmond '16-'17 sport coat and open collar dress shirt look)

Great comeback by Depaul at home over Providence in the final seconds with Garrett Jr. winning it for them 64-63

DePaul with a big time comeback late, to stun Providence by a point.

So, after tonight, we have no unbeaten teams in the conference, and no winless squads. This with less then a third of the conference schedule over.

Chris Jones played 31 minutes and went for nine and nine, on road, in upset win vs New Mexico.

Meanwhile, in Monday's game, Amar went 0-3 (all from 3-point range) with 0 rebounds and 3 fouls.

I'm pretty sure that one of the shots was from four point range. :silly:

We keep bringing up Jones. From what I saw of him while he played here was not impressed He is not the type of player that if he stayed would have elevated our program This program obviously needs much more talent in future players to bring us back

And if he had played like that while he was here, he still be here most likely. Lavin raved about him his freshman year remember. That was five years ago. He never lived up to Lavin's hype. He did finish strong last year so maybe it all finally clicked. Who knows. it looked like it on UNLV's summer trip but then he got off to a slow start when the season started and then got injured. Came back was so-so until his last two or three games. Maybe he reverts next game.
