The 'Nova-Creighton match-up is a must-see.
The St. John's-Depaul game should kill in the ratings going up against the NFL on a Sunday afternoon. :

The Vincentian Bowl where the winner is a loser.. Can't wait to break that moniker.

Watched a good part of the second half of Kent State over Texas tonight and our once heralded Adonis did not see the floor. What a waste of size and talent.

He played 20 mins. Foul trouble. 5 rebounds. He Is no star, but hopefully he Is having fun.

Not current BE but Rutgers down by about a dozen to Wisconsin. They might be the only high-major with a worse SOS than us. Despite going 10-2 OOC (their 11 win was versus a non D1) they won't win many B10 games.

Road games vs min and cuse. Mich st, VCU, and UAB on neutral court and a true road game vs tulAne. Trust me, there is a big list of major schools with a worse sos than us.

According to the RPI only Syracuse, Va Tech, Rutgers, Indiana, Georgia Tech, Oregon St had weaker OOC schedules.

The kid was grossly overhyped by our ex-coach, and grossly overrated by our fan base. He has nice skills but is not a high D1 player. He should have never been here in the first place. He's lost a ton of weight which he should be lauded for. I can't imagine that it came easy for him. Maybe he develops in to a serviceable big for Kent State over the next couple of years. Right now he still looks like a project.

Shaka having a bit of trouble playing in the big boy conference.

turns out that playing primarily Fr. and So. isn't so easy.

IMO we cant fault the staff for traditional powers, MSU and Cuse, for having down years.

There's no fault being thrown around, just stating that the schedule isn't as hard as some would make it out to be. That is probably a good thing.

Not the BE, but UCONN taking it on the chin in their AAC opener, losing to Houston 36-12 at halftime, in Hartford.

Jalen Adams out, so the injuries are piling up, but 12 points? At home? Fun to watch, if you don't like them.

We started the season with a SOS of 42. We dropped to 332 with losses to lowly Delaware State and LIU. Every other team we lost to were good teams, including Michigan state that is the top 10 in SOS. We are now at 105 because of two very bad home losses. It is all relative considering we lost our center, Yakwe has been dormant and Bashir has been slow to adjust. Except for DePaul at 272 and Providence at 91, every other Big East team are in the top 50 of SOS.
The overall schedule is actually very hard. That is not a good thing.......this year. ;)

SOS has nothing to do with w/l or who is on your roster or not, only the quality of opponent. Non con SOS's can change if teams you play get better or worse through the year but STJ SOS has been hurt as the so called good teams they had on the schedule ended up being not that good. At this point Minnesota is the only team they played in the top 50. VCU, Mi St and Penn St (barely for now) are the only other teams in the top 100. ODU is 106 and the rest are 193 or worse. No doubt by the end of the season STJ SOS will be considerably higher since besides DePaul every other team is top 100 RPI and 8 games are against teams presently in the top 10 RPI.

And Mi St's SOS is immaterial even if it was 10 (it's 34), that too is only an indication of how good the teams they played are. In fact that number has no doubt been hurt by playing St Johns.

PS I used Jerry Palm's RPI for SOS but then switched to ESPN later so not all numbers are consistent but they're pretty close.

So much for anyone who assumed DePaul would be an automatic win. Nova survives, wins by 3

Nova survived an embarrassing upset. Eli Cain and Billy Garrett are a handful when they play well. Both, at 6-6 will cause our smaller guards problems. Every one of our Big East games will be fun to watch. With 4 nationally ranked teams this conference has been resurrected. Hopefully we are next in the resurrection.
