Sterling Gibbs just punched Arcidiacono in the face. He will probably be suspended for our game. It was obvious flagrant 2. Straight out punched/elbowed him and should be suspended.

Gibbs with basically a punch to Arcidiacano's face. Thug cheap hit that might keep him out next game.

Pretty flagrant. He's out!]

Gibbs might be out next game now also. Closed fist to Archie's face.
If he and Whitehead can't play together, that might be good for them.

Still, Gibbs has been the better player, so it would still be good for us, but watch out.

Disagree - Whitehead is good and supremely talented. Just having a difficult time adjusting to the college game. And of course the chemistry issues, I'm sure, are not helping his development.

Yea I know but he just isn't good right now

@AdamZagoria: Big East will review the Sterling Gibbs incident as per league policy, source says

Yeah, he will be out. He ground-n-pounded Arch. Wasn't even questionable. No way he plays IMHO. Can't say im upset regardless.

From the Hall's Rivals site, an interesting take on the Sina situation by Jim Hague, a blogger who reportedly covers their home games for the AP:

http://jimhaguesports.blogspot.com/

Pretty scathing take on Whitehead:

"Whitehead came to South Orange complete with his own personal posse, both on the court and off. He arrives everywhere with teammates Carrington and Rodriguez, but also with five or so others who are not players nor family members. It's not known whether or not they are even Seton Hall students, yet they are constantly in Whitehead's company.

"The Whitehead faction has caused a tremendous rift within the core of the Pirates, one that now cannot be repaired, certainly not this season, if not ever.

"Whitehead came to South Orange with the thought he might be a "one-and-done," meaning spending one year at Seton Hall, living up to his hype as the preseason Big East Rookie of the Year, then declare his intentions for the NBA Draft.

"Well, Whitehead has definitely not played like an NBA prospect this season. It's safe to say that he's been a gigantic bust."

Hope this puts to bed all the "we should have hired Tiny talk." Sometimes it just isn't worth it no matter how talented a player is.

So. Looking ahead at Saturday

- Sina is gone
- Gibbs might be out
- Mobley is hurt and if he plays he won't be 100% (knee)
- it's our seniors final game at Carnesseca
- we will be seeking revenge for our earlier loss

So, is there any chance in the world we lose Saturday? Of course, but man I expect to win that one big time

Not looking ahead, but it certainly looks like Seton Hall has given up on the season. On top of that, I would not be surprised if Sterling Gibbs was suspended. Both bode well for our streaking team. Now lets go beat Gtown!! Woot!

Seton Hall will treat this game like a Final Four match up. It will make their season, and their fans season, to hurt ours. And you know the NY kids are going to be amped.

@CerasolisGhost: Sterling Gibbs cheap shot on Ryan Arcidiacono

Wow! That has to be a suspension. Finally maybe we catch a break.

Such a cheap shot that fans on the SH site are calling for his suspension and comparing it to Herb Pope's flagrant below-the-belt cheap shot during Gonzo's Reign of Terror. Whitehead with 15 points, 4 assists (a couple on out-of-control passes) and 5 turnovers. Carrington, 2 for 11, continues to struggle with his shot.

Agree completely. The hated Hall (at least by me) always give us a hard time.

I used to root for them but the Tiny situation, plus their fans, have changed that. I went to the New Years Eve game and their fans were annoying as hell. Only Providence's have been worse this year.
