Around the Big East

Xavier looks like garbage thus far this season.  Right now losing to Kent state but they also didn’t look good last game.  I’d add that Kent State actually looks pretty good, but Xavier still hasn’t lead yet.

Agree.  The Big East looks be be weak this year.  I think St Johns, UConn and Nova are elite.  Seton Hall/Providence is in the 2nd tier.  After that, these teams are not very good.

Maybe Xavier looks better when freemantle returns.

I’m sure they will but the rest of the team looks terrible which I think is the overarching issue.

Wow. Interesting to see that bad one sided referee calls when playing at UCLA happens to every team. We learned that lesson a few years ago.

Nova ran out of gas.  Thats what happens when u only play 6 guys.
They have excellent guard out with an injury who will return, but agree depth is not their strength. Arcidiacano is mediocre backup PG too imo. To me Robinson Earl was a huge interior piece last year who will be sorely missed. Nova is Nova w Jay, but an injury to key player will make them beatable. Early, but not splitting with them would disappoint me.

Xavier finished their game strong last night.  They are not a bad team.  The Iowa transfer (C -Jack Nunge) is a player.

Agree, second half they looked much better.  Glad they won in the end.  They hadn’t looked good to this point.

Gtown struggling with Dartmouth.  Jordan Riley getting an earful from Coach Ewing.  Hahahahahaha
Not good from a conference perspective, and yet it doesn’t really bother me…

I enjoyed watching the Hoyas run their sets (and taking their sweet time) under 2 minutes down 11.  And not playing pressure defense to try to force a turn over.  Bad coaching or waving the white flag?  Will 33 be on the hot seat, or does his BE tournament win last year buy him more time?
