Around the Big East

Nova stopped going to Dixon in the second half. Too much Poplar (who went cold after a torrid stretch) and Longino... Anyway, let';;s beat DePaul and then focus on UCONN.

I think Neptune has made progress as a coach. All that team has is Dixon and Poplar. Longino is a useful role player. The rest of the roster is trash. He's done OK given his failure to recruit.

I suppose the other way to look at it is that guys like Perkins and Brickus can actually play and he has not coached schemes that make them useful, the sets are either Dixon or Poplar and that's it.

And I'm not sure whether U Conn's evisceration of Nova on the offensive end on 3-4 plays late in the game is a Neptune failure, Nova running out of gas, or Hurley forgetting about the refs for long enough to let his coaching ability go to work. Maybe a bit of all of the above.
