Around the Big East

I'm thinking we are up 3 on U Conn in the loss column. If we beat them this weekend we will be up 4 with 3 to play so that eliminates them.

We are up 2 on both Creighton and Marquette in the loss column. Since Marquette is the last game of the season if we beat DePaul tonight, U Conn this weekend, at Butler, and Seton Hall then going into the last game at Marquette we would still be up 2 in the loss column with one game to play.

Bottom line is (unless I'm wrong) if we win the next 4 we will lock up the regular season title irrespective of the last game.

As DK correctly points out the last game might make something of a difference in NCAA seeding.

I am not concerned about tonight or SHU. As between at Butler and home for UConn I am actually more concerned about at Butler, I think. But SJU will obviously be favored in all 4 and if they win them the Marquette game is meaningless - neither they nor Creighton can make up a 2 game deficit with one to play.

Now, if we lose one of the next 4, the Marquette game may be for all the marbles - and it may very well be all the marbles for us v Creighton, they have a much easier road the rest of the way than us or Marquette.

I don't know what the tiebreakers are though - it's possible that we would win on that basis even if tied with either Marquette or Creighton but I'd rather not worry about that....
Marquette also plays Uconn one more time. Someone has to lose.

So bottom line is a 2-2 finish will get them no worse then a share of the BE crown.

Everyone else currently has at least 4 losses and Marquette and UCONN still need to play each other if UCONN wins that at home that will give Marquette a 5th loss.

Creighton has a fairly manageable schedule they have Georgetown/DePaul/Butler all at home. And SHU on the road. I cannot see them losing any of those games. Xavier in Cincinnati will be the key; Xavier will need that for NCAA's. That could be their 5th loss.

So a 3-1 finish gets them the title outright, 2-2 finish gets them at no worse a share and maybe outright.

And just looking ahead to the BE Tourney, if SJU gets tope seed.

Looks like Marquette, Creighton and UCONN will vie for 2-4.

I think Xavier is going to finish 5th. Georgetown and Nova will finish 6-7, not necessarily in that order. DePaul and SHU will finish 10 and 11.

That leaves Prov and Butler as 8-9 again not necessarily in that order.

So that means play winner of Butler/Prov on Thursday. Then winner of Xavier vs (one of those 3) on Friday.

Not sure what I will do on my BE T Wednesday now. 🥳

$32? Yeah, he’s doing this to help people overcome and succeed! How altruistic of him. God bless capitalism but at least be honest. This is a for profit operation.

The Jarvae book is going for $3.98. 🤣😂🤣

Nova has been super involving former players, struggling SH smart to at least do this. Should be the norm here imo and am confident it will be.
