TheI actually think it's the greatest thing he's ever said. Everything after that one interaction with the fan (which was him actually being angry/nutty) has been him purposely acting like a WWE heel.

He'd be great as one of the typical whiny managers who hides behind his guy and, much to the fans delight, gets pounded by the opponent, after pleading for mercy.TheWWWFWWFWWE is headquartered in Connecticut, maybe auditioning for a role at Summer Slam.
In truth it's fairly sad. Hurley is a victim of the common human situation in which the thing that makes someone great is also their downfall. The insecurity that drove him to ultracompetitiveness and allowed him to play ball at a level that his skills didn't really merit, and which later allowed him to become an excellent coach, is now setting up to undermine him. He'd be great as one of the typical whiny managers who hides behind his guy and, much to the fans delight, gets pounded by the opponent, after pleading for mercy.

Always a shame to see a talented human being undone by human flaws that they are unable to manage. I hope he works his way through it somehow.

His skill and merit were def seton hall level as a basketball player. He was a real solid big east pg. Average 14 a game his jr and sr year.In truth it's fairly sad. Danny Hurley reminds me of Harvey Whippleman or Jim CornetteHe'd be great as one of the typical whiny managers who hides behind his guy and, much to the fans delight, gets pounded by the opponent, after pleading for mercy.
The final 4 team was 1985 which means this year is the 40 year anniversary. Would be awesome to do something to honor them.I am really looking forward to our battles with UConn and Marquette at a packed and juiced up MSG. There is just no place like the Mecca especially when the Johnnies are very good.
Lucky to have been courtside for our losing, but great Frank Alagia/ George Johnson battle w #1 Indiana, Ron Rowan “dagger” jump shot win over Cuse, a great Hatten led win over Duke and Dwight Hardy led battle over Pitt among others. I think the coming games w UConn & M’Q & the BE Tourney ones could also find a nice place in my memory bank, although from my lanai.
This is really shaping up to be a potentially memorable season.
PS - Considering how long it has been since we were a national factor, much the way Nova does, can Ed Kull figure out a way to honor Mullin’s Final 4 squad, Artest led Final 8 team or even the overachieving DJ Kennedy squad (plagued by his injury) at MSG. I notice Dwight, Malik Booth, D’Lo, Phil G, Bill Wennington and others on Twitter rooting us on. You could honor one group at a time & MSG seems the place to do so. If logistics preclude doing something this year, perhaps next year. We owe to these guys & frankly have been remiss in that regard.
Silliest thing was honoring them the same day as playing UConn...the program that won the actual title that year. The final 4 team was 1985 which means this year is the 40 year anniversary. Would be awesome to do something to honor them.
The Artest elite 8 team, I am glad to say we did honor them at halftime at the UConn game last season. It was a nice moment.
Would love to see DLo at a game this year if his schedule allows. If they put him on the jumbotron at a game I am at, I would probably get a bit misty eyed
If the Mrs. throws you out, sure. Been there done that...Very insightful LMF
Do you have room on your den couch for me?
