Around the Big East

Think Sha is a good young coach. Still think he turns around the season.

That said, “resources” aren’t the reason you lose to Fordham, Hofstra and double digits to 0-8 Monmouth at home. Something is going on there. They have some talented kids despite the actual or perceived lack of resources.
Their NIL funding is limited and that is tough hurdle to overcome

Creighton was 46% from three hitting 11. Looks like a tough year for Creighton, but McDermott is a great HC who will rally his troops and be competitive in BE at very least imo.

We are getting 5 teams in this year in spite of the tough OOC.
The amount of teams we get in this year is going to be extremely interesting

On one hand yes the OOC has not gone well, on another hand, I’m really unsure of how it shakes out this year with all the conference affiliation changes. I also don’t expect the Mountain West to get as many teams in. Also will probably be less bid stealers

And is bad as Hall has been, we had two thousand pound anchors taking up 4 games of everyone’s BE slate last year. Yes the bottom looks soft, but don’t think it will hurt us like DePaul and Gtown did last year. With that said, still have to beat those bottom teams!

We are owed after last year. We won the NCAA tournament and the NIT — the latter making the committee look stupid.

Marquette, Uconn, Creighton, Xavier, and St. John’s are all clearly tournament teams with a chance to see the second weekend.

Because like 16 months ago, Dual, Middleton, the big kid from Wisconsin were all top 50-100 level recruits out of prep. Dual and Middleton were top 50 kids. They aren’t far removed from all the “evaluators” pegging them as such. Their two freshman are solid recruits. Some of the other transfers have this pedigree or weere successful at the mid major level.
I’ll put my hand up & admit to being embarrassed to put Dual and NBA in the same sentence, even though he’s an athletic freak. Having watched him play this year, I’ve seen zero growth and zero feel for the game at all from him. He’s just an athlete, not a baller.

Middleton and that other guy are barely playing. Jenkins is an okay undersized guard and maybe Coleman could be interesting? Their freshman big has shown he has decent hands.

Overall, I really think the team lacks offensive talent. They cannot get a basket when they need one, and will only win games in a total rock fight. But if their o/u on big east wins is 4, id take the under.

The MWC currently has 4 in the Top 45, 5 in the Top 48. Both exceed our #'s.
