Around the Big East

That's crazy, not at all deserved after going 0-3 in Maui. Let them make it up by winning against at least one half-decent team.
AP poll went the way of black and white television. Not sure what's worse, still publishing it or actually reading it. This appears the most accurate. First column is NET, 2nd (KPI) isKen Pom. Based these, we can all make alternate plans for March.

Woops, just got in and posted this before catching up and reading today's posts. Apologies.

Writers (AP) poll and Coaches poll remain the standard. Click bait rankings are just that. But rankings in December mean zero and foolish to use as a gauge for March Madness.

What do you guys think our "floor" is in conference play to make the tournament?

I feel a little bit uneasy saying this, but I think *the floor* is something like this:
Seton Hall: 2-0
Providence: 2-0
DePaul: 2-0
Georgetown: 2-0
Villanova: 1-1
Xavier 1-1
Butler: 1-1
Creighton: 1-1
UConn: 1-1
Marquette: 1-1
___
14-6
I don't like the win this game lose that game approach. I put them in buckets since almost every team will win games they shouldn't and lose games they shouldn't.

9-3 against SH, Providence, DePaul, Gtown, Butler and Nova

4-4 against the big 4

The Big East OOC results were not good. If they limited the conference to three bids last year it will even easier for them to do it again and justify it this year. We have to finish in the top 3. If 14-6 does that then that’s fine. Whatever gets us in the top 3. I think we sweep Creighton.

We have to sweep one of the big 4 and finish top 3 in the league to be assured a bid. If not we have win the Big East Tournament

Although this generally makes sense, you will need a third bucket for a team like Seton Hall since a loss to them wouldn't be a magnitude more devastating than a loss to Nova. I fully expect their NET to not go much higher than where it is right now. DePaul/Butler/Providence (IF Hopkins is healthy) can all end up in a better place a few months from now, but also very much not.

13-7 looks like the best outcome possible which, considering we're likely a 3 bid league, is pretty sad.
