Around the Big East

Creighton’s going nowhere fast if it keeps letting its opponents score 90 points a game. Defense has been a joke lately.
Refs let both teams play. Lots of rough stuff, but no whistles. Teams went into overtime with only 3 and 4 fouls each.

Creighton up 3 at end of regulation, with fouls to give, let Carter throw in a 32 footer to tie it.

Both these teams are very good. League is starting to sort itself out now and we are tied for 6th with two teams as of now.

PC beats Creighton in gutsy OT win, Carter may be best clutch scorer in BE & Oduro is a beast
Oduro wasn't a beast when we beat them but he has gained the confidence and aggressiveness that Soriano has lost.
If Dingle was half the player Devin Carter is we would be just as dangerous that Providence has become lately.

Watching other teams in the BE, it is so apparent that St. Johns has no one to blame but themselves for the effect other games have on them and where they sit in the standings.
How about just playing 40 minutes and taking care of business like Seton Hall and Providence and Butler are doing? Just being mentally tough, playing with grit and just playing 40 freaking MINUTES of hard basketball? Kudos especially to those three teams.
The Johnnie’s opportunities have been there, but at the end of the day, the grit and determination has not. Funny, the only two starters who bring it night after night every minute on the court have been arguably the two most criticized players on this board. No argument with one obviously.

Yep it’s all about taking care of business. Every game is winnable but tough outside of DePaul. Even Georgetown, on a good night, can win a game.

I’d we don’t make the tournament well have ourselves to blame.

These others teams are improving over the course of the season. We have not improved at all so they have all passed us.

St johns is a bottom 4 big east team.

Currently true that we are a bottom 4 team.
Also currently true that we are a game away from being a top 4 team - and interestingly have (by a nose) the 4th best NET in the league.
Opportunities ahead vs everyone except X.
Now SJU has to take advantage of them - can afford a loss at Marquette, but beyond that it's time to take care of business.

Who wants it most among teams clawing for a bid? If Johnnies don’t bring A game effort every remaining game, not sure Rick could tolerate another “Robert Morris like NIT” appearance in front of ten people including janitorial staff at CA. 😇

Another opportunity game at M’Q. Watching Xavier and Providence battle adversity yesterday, there is no reason Johnnies can’t give it their all. If not, LMF’s road map is clear & a path they finally seize. We’ll see 🤞

This is truly a glass half-full or glass half-empty graphic because you can say we're a bottom four team, or you can say we're 6th because we have beat both Butler & Providence H2H.

Miller is an incredible coach to have Xavier tied with Creighton at this point in the season. So many teams would've quit by now, and so many coaches would not know what adjustments to make.
