Around the Big East

Villanova lacks the poise that we are accustomed to. Jacking up 3s all night long. At the end of regulation with 2 timeouts, Neptune allows Bamba to dribble down the clock and miss a forced shot while the other 4 players watch. In OT, several opportunities to go up 2 possessions to no avail. Neptune now has a record of 23-21 as Nova head coach.
Bamba disappointing thus far

Watched the Nova game and their guards are good. Bamba, Moore, Longino are going to give our guards a battle. I wouldn’t count out Nova yet.

Agree with this. Kansas State no slouch and at home. I could see Nova and us fighting it out for 4th place. Hopkins on PC overrated to me.
Agreed K-State is no slouch. St. Joe’s not bad either. But Penn and Drexel. No bueno. Seems they left their best basketball in the Bahamas.

The emotions of a season. After the Michigan loss, the reaction was they would be lucky to make the NIT because the BE was loaded. This team would not sniff a top four finish.

Now, after a bad couple of days by the previously loaded conference, the narrative is that SJU better finish in the top four because the league is mediocre and that is the extent of the bids the BE is getting.

All this emotional extremes, and December just started.

Yep, after we lost to Dayton in Charleston, the narrative was no way we were going to beat Utah, which took Houston to the wire. After we beat Utah, the narrative was that Utah was too slow.

Cam Spencer really solid get by UConn. UConn up 10 over Heels w minute to go in first half

I think that when the dust settles, the Johnnies will be right around where predicted. Unlike many, I don’t have that much confidence in our current back court and specifically our point guard position. I believe that Alleyne must be used more at that position for defense and experience. Wilcher is a good one but he’s not ready to make a substantial contribution. In terms of how good the team will do? Let’s see how they do in the conference and specifically with lower rated teams on the road. If we can grab some of those games we will be in good shape.
