Around the Big East

Going to be fun in the Big East next season. Confident we have a game day Coach and enough talent to play with anyone. Bring it on!
Yup, awesome conference that just won national championship and then had tremendous portal success. Thankfully we have Rick to compete and imo carve out a bid deserving middle of pack BE status hopefully. Nothing is a lock in BE though.

No locks. I just think SJU will be capable of winning every game they play. Doesn’t mean they will but this team will be in the mix. I can’t even remember the last time we could say that and mean it.

I also think Pitino will have the team “improving” as the season progresses. That’s what good coaching does. No it won’t be easy. He has lots of work to bring it all together. Clearly is a process but I am all in to see how he puts it all together.

I'll say this. I wanted UCONN back last time, and if I remember correctly a lot of posters here did not because they felt they had betrayed the conference. I just felt at that point in time it was better for the Big East, and I think that's proven to be true. Plus I'm a bit of a traditionalist and wanted as many original Big East teams together under one roof after Syracuse, Pitt, and Boston College decided they'd rather be irrelevant in the ACC.

With that said, if UCONN leaves again, they are DEAD to me. I repeat: DEAD DEAD DEAD DEAD.

With all due respect, nobody cares who we love or who we hate. It’s only about money and more money! There is NO more tradition!Football brings big $$not basketball. No more rules or limits on anything.

Good riddance. Their president, AD, and football coach have been begging for a Power 5 invite for nearly a year now. Looking forward to them losing their regional rivals (as they did in the AAC) and the Johnnies becoming the top regional program.

I don’t really care if UCONN stays or goes. Too many good things going on with us and Big East in general to care what those aholes do.

I didn’t want UCONN back in the Big East and I am on record of saying so and why
On this Board. It was a temporary solution to a problem that did not exists. The Big East did not need UCONN but UCONN did need the Big East.

What is happening is just what was predicted and the $30M exit fee should have been $50M for the first 5 years and $30M the next 2-3 years.

UCONN was not a fit for the new Big East and should have never been admitted. The quicker they are out the better otherwise this situation is just going to continue to hang over the conference’s head.

UCONN, please do pass go to whatever conference and Big East do collect your $30M.
