Limited talent, but any success for Seton Hall is dependent on playing hard nosed defense. They did so on road defeating DePaul 71-67
I'm not going to debate this with you. I won't change your mind and you won't change mine, so continuing to debate this is useless. Plus, I don't want to take this anymore off topic. Have a nice day.St. John's has been a liability to the Big East because mediocrity is considered a step up for the program.
Except for one brief moment in 1999, SJU has done nothing for the BE on any scale since Lou retired.
We give nothing to the BE, but we always have our hand out for those great revenue-sharing NCAA runs by our conference brethren. (Thanks for balancing our books Jay!)
And a program in the media hotbed of Spokane, WA, has one of the best national profiles out there.
This is not 1979. Being in NYC is irrelevant especially when you lose. Nobody in the media cares about St. John's because we don't win.
Again, we will have to agree to disagree. And I agree. I don't want to get into a political argument either.Oh Tony if that was only true today. New York was big when Big meant something but , today ? I don’t see it anymore . I was a life long New Yorker until Retirement and moved South . Much of the Media Capital in NYC is despised in a lot of America areas . I’m not going to the Political arguments but , how much has the Media Capital in NY helped St John’s during these troubled times for our BB Program? Answer , none .

I’ll be moving to South Florida soon and like you, I will always consider myself a NYer and be proud of it. Screw anyone who doesn’t like it.As someone who stills tells people he's a NYer even after 26 years on the West Coast I wear that statement as a badge of honor.
Kind of sad at your age you don't realize it's a badge of shame. As someone who stills tells people he's a NYer even after 26 years on the West Coast I wear that statement as a badge of honor
Before the season started, if I told you 7 games into the BE season we would be tied with Villanova would you have been happy?
I definitely thought we could end up with a record like that. In college basketball you need guards that can hit shots. We really don’t have that. Before the season started, if you had told me that on January15, 2023 Kenpom would project the Johnnies to finish with a regular season record of 18 and 13 thereby again failing to secure a post season invite to either the NCAA of NIT tournaments then I would not have believed you.

Nice to see the Johnnies buck that trend today. Could be the start of something special.Of the 17 of 20 games played with at least one ranked team on Saturday the winner irrespective of ranking was won by the home team. Going on the road is tough everywhere.
