Around the Big East

Wait I thought Uconn football was dead and buried ?
They need to figure out a way to offer themselves up to be beaten to a pulp on the road by SEC powers. Name would look better on schedule for someone like Alabama, who'd still get a 50-point win, and UConn would make money.

They lost to Michigan 59-0 on the road this year lol

Wonder if this unexpected return to respectability for Uconn football will have any impact on their getting a spot in a Power Five conference? I guess the ACC would make the most sense. They beat BC and a ranked Liberty team, coming off a win over Arkansas.

Not sure I'd call it respectable just yet. Their wins this year have mostly been against garbage teams. Might be something to build on who knows.

The ACC is exactly where UConn belongs. Get them out of the big east!

After winning only one game last year, UConn football is 6-5 this be year under new head coach Jim Mora. They just upset 19th ranked Liberty.

Great, soon we'll be inundated with delusions of grandeur from UConn fans clamoring for major conf football.

BTW, I don't follow football but how in the world is Televangelist U ranked?

Exactly, ranked 94th in CBS power rankings. Only Big 5 teams behind them are Vandy, Va Tech, BC, Northwestern, Colorado and Cal.

They fudge their scores and are undefeated.

Sonogo is going to be a problem for his BE opposing big men for sure

I actually think St John’s may be better positioned than most (not saying much) because at least a guy like Soriano can make Sanogo work for it but I have no idea what we do when he inevitably gets in foul trouble. Not much behind Soriano and certainly nobody that would keep Sanogo up at night.

Congrats to Jones. This team was extremely fortunate they landed a transfer of that caliber. The ceiling would be significantly lower without him.

Last year Sanogo ate Joel alive in the first game. Next time Sanogo got in early foul trouble sat for most of the first half and was mostly a non-factor in the game. If Joel can stay out of foul trouble he probably has the best BE big man body to deal with Sanogo.
