Xavier has landed a commitment from D-2 star Bryan Griffin of Mercy College in NY, he told
@Stadium
. The 6-8, 230-pound big man averaged 19.6 points and 14.5 boards this season and will be able to play this season for Travis Steele and the Musketeers.

Calling Mike Zain, 3-2-1.
Didn't Xavier also pull in useful big Hansen from Div II or III two years ago?
Yes, Zach Hankins, effective player

I also remember Creighton took the big kid from Adelphi, Manny Suarez.

Can't wait for this guy to dominate SJU and our fans to go batshit crazy. :woohoo:
Water is wet.

I usually scan the D2/D3 stats a few times a year, but I guess I didn't anytime recently, because I had no clue this guy existed.

I think we may have been in on him, at least initially.

But am I wrong? Xavier has done this with success already. Other teams look overseas. No clue why we can't get a few legitimate bigs from D2 or overseas when we strike out on every other in the US. Big men must have SJ on a "pay no mind" list. Seriously...what other explanation makes sense? Even not having the best history with bigs, you'd think there's enough where some would gladly take the chance at this level.

If we got a big from D2 don’t deny the fact you and most others would immediately say how D2 isn’t the BE and it was a waste of scholarship.

I'll take it s step further. Not only would people claim waste of scholarship, they'd claim CMA could not recruit and we should consider firing him.

I'll take it a step even further. If he had chosen DePaul instead of Xavier, someone would have posted it and no one would have cared.

Dave Leitao has received a contract extension from DP through the 2023-24 season.

:whistle: :woohoo:

Nice to have a dense benefactor who found the 3-15 Big East regular season record impressive
