Around the Big East 18/19

Marquette transfers Sam and Joey Hauser told @Stadium they will visit Virginia on Thursday and moved the Michigan State visit to the May 14th. They have visited Wisconsin and will choose from those three schools.

Playing in those tournaments allows you to play 31 rather than 28 games if they are considered exempt tournaments which almost all are so would hate to avoid them. The more games the merrier.
Paultz, any scuttle as to why they left Marquette (sorry if I missed it).
Conjecture, but Howard being source of irritation re dominating ball is one theory.

...the dreaded 'vote of confidence'. Lol.
Actually, he's a very good coach. Tough break losing the Hauser combo but working hard to rebuild the team.
Got to respect that.

Breaking #mubb news: Marquette has landed 7-foot Utah grad transfer Jayce Johnson, according to a source. He averaged 7.1 points and 7.7 rebounds per game last season for the Utes. Eligible immediately.

Perhaps Iron Mike will reverse that as well. It's one of his themes about building a complete man. I recall he had a couple guys at Arkansas who achieved great / solid academic success.

CBS just announced a six-year deal with the Big East: 20 games per year, including "up to 4 games per season" on the main network. Translation: If the league is good, there's major air time to be had.

Rothstein reported a few months back that the rules committee was trying to make it so that everyone played the same number of regular season games, regardless of if they played in a tournament, or not.

Unfortunately, that has not been followed up on, at least not to this point.

"Up to 4 games on the main network" hardly seems like major air time with the rest being on CBSSN which is probably a lesser exposure than Fox Sports 1. If max of 4 is reached probably at least 2 will be Nova games and doubt any will include us at least next season.

594 on Verizon FIOS.
They have the 2019 Arnold Strongman Classic in primetime tonight so yes they have plenty of time to show Big East games.
