Around the Big East 18/19

If someone could please google Olivier Rioux and post an article from last year when he was12 years old and 6 10.
It is not working for me.
Sorry
Is this it?

Perfect, thank you very much. There are many other articles but they are written in French. This one says all you need to know. As I said his 16 year old brother Emile plays with my son in the Adidas Gauntlet. A very nice family, the boys have great parents.
Reminds me of Kramer and his Karate experience.
That made me spit water all over my monitor lol!!!! I have never seen anything like that. I thought the kid on my son's team who is 12 yo @ 5 11 was huge.

Sounds like a fabulous trip for a team.
I’d make a joke now about St. John’s taking a team trip...by bus...to Bahamas, W. VA, but never mind.
Lol.
Yup, I hope the team takes a great Summer trip soon...by Air...First Class!
Actually, always wondered how basketball teams travel.
Must be very spaced-apart seats!
Actually dunno.
Something else I know nothing about.
Lol.

Seems like a kid who gets it.

Ahhhhhh to be smart

Good call Moose. This kid has NBA level wing talent, but another year will be so beneficial to him. Needs to work on his three and reduce turnovers but has decent size and great natural ability.

From the "This Makes Me Feel Very Old Department":

Rik Smits' (The Flying Dutchman from Marist) son is leaving Valpo and will be a grad transfer at Butler next year

I hate to bring this up, but CMA does not have a great history of playing in these kinds of tournaments. Looking at his Arkansas teams, he went to the Preseason NIT once, the Maui once, the Las Vegas Invitational once, and they played in that special Nike tournament two years ago. The other years, he's opted to host round-robin style events in Fayetville (though he went to Minnesota one year), playing 3 or 4 usually bad teams, over the course of about 4 or 5 days.

I'm sure he does this to work out kinks in the defense early in the year (he even hinted at his press conference, that his teams don't look pretty in November or December), but that optic is not going to fly here. Now this year, we have the Mohegan Sun Tournament. Not the best one in the world, but as long as we are participating in something, I won't complain. It will be interesting to see what he does in the future.

Just curious, why won't the "optic" fly here; I would much rather be playing my best ball at the end of the year; picture 2018-2019, that experienced team certainly didn't get better - it collapsed.

NCAA Tournament committee might hold something like that against you, if you're on the bubble, or they might knock you down a seed or two (which could be a positive, sometimes).
