Around the Big East 18/19

Absolutely zero chance Seton Hall is a top 15 team let alone top 25. I really think they overachieved last year and took advantage of a down conference year. Willard is overrated IMO and got lucky doing shady things with Whitehead's coach and somehow it worked. I think Whitehead and Powell have masked Willard's mediocrity. Once Powell is out of the equation I see them as a 5-7 type team again. Not too long ago SHU fans were demanding he get fired. Even with Powell back though, no way they're top 25 good. Maybe 20 or 21 wins at most IMO with a 10-8 record at best. Tourney team? Maybe, but not that good.

As for Marq, highly doubt they're top 10. Maybe they will stick somewhere in 20-25 because their defense and lack of athleticism kills them. This is not me being negative, just realistic. Big East will be much better next year but the only team I think has a chance of keeping close to its preseason ranking is Nova.
Jesus you were all about Williard a few weeks back. Plus regarding this particular take, nova loses its two best players, BY FAR, and they are the safest bet? Yea they have 5 stars coming in, remember their five start freshmen last year?
I'm just not sold yet on Willard. He's a solid not great coach IMO. I just think he's been carried by IW and Powell. If he can prove he can win without Powell then I will give him his full due. Some teams just get lucky and I feel they did last year. They won a ton of nailbiters decided by single digits I remember. Take 3-4 of those that don't go their way and it's a very different season.

Well, there was definitely one win that should have been taken away from Seton Hall!

Wojo joining up with Cragg?

Can't be they were not satisfied with their playing time or not enough of returning talent next year. Could it be their coach?

Wow what a gut punch for Marquette. There are rumors that they didn’t like playing with Howard and Marquette mishandled Joey’s hip injury.

This might be the death nail for Wojo.

Funny that players aren't typically allowed to transfer with the same conference but no such rule applies to HCs. Don't recall any HC 'doing' that, but don't think there's a 'rule' to prevent it.

Wow! Not sure if Anim (rumored to be leaving) and Sam H could fit as grad transfers (doubt it) but Joey will definitely have to sit. There must really be trouble in Golden Eagle land....

Sam will have to sit out as well media reports

Shocker. Not good for conference

Many rumors that Wojo handing the ball exclusively to a 1 for 15, and obviously hobbled Howard down the stretch against Seton Hall was not popular in the locker room. Certainly not proof, but the horrible effort in the first round game didn’t quiet them.

Horrible news for Marquette. Not a coincidence, IMO, that Howard announces that he is returning and 3 days later these guys announce their departure.

So Murray St. beats the crap out of you and you give up. J/K. This is a shame because although I am not a fan of Wojo, I thought he had the program going in the right direction. this won't be easy to overcome.

JUCO standout David Sloan is visiting Georgetown this coming weekend. Kansas State is also pursuing him.
