Around the Big East 18/19

Streaky shooter yes but usually clutch.[/quote]

Luv the kid. A warrior.

Winner takes all! Very exciting!

What a disappointing post season for the BE. That said DePaul is pretty good for a last place team. No great teams, but no bad teams either.Balanced conference.

A coach visiting a recruit? What’s that?

Markus Howard is returning to Marquette next season, per his Twitter page. HUGE news for the Big East.

Calling it now, Marquette figures it out next season and will be a Final Four/possible title contender.

Saw some pre season prognostication that had Marq ranked second in the country for next season.

At least according to this way too early top 25 for next year from ESPN, Big East's demise has been greatly exaggerated. Two teams (Marquette & Nova) in top 5, Seton Hall #12 and Gtown & Creighton both mentioned as next 5 after top 25. Admittedly way too early, but still good to see.

Absolutely zero chance Seton Hall is a top 15 team let alone top 25. I really think they overachieved last year and took advantage of a down conference year. Willard is overrated IMO and got lucky doing shady things with Whitehead's coach and somehow it worked. I think Whitehead and Powell have masked Willard's mediocrity. Once Powell is out of the equation I see them as a 5-7 type team again. Not too long ago SHU fans were demanding he get fired. Even with Powell back though, no way they're top 25 good. Maybe 20 or 21 wins at most IMO with a 10-8 record at best. Tourney team? Maybe, but not that good.

As for Marq, highly doubt they're top 10. Maybe they will stick somewhere in 20-25 because their defense and lack of athleticism kills them. This is not me being negative, just realistic. Big East will be much better next year but the only team I think has a chance of keeping close to its preseason ranking is Nova.

Marquette and Seton Hall had insane OOC schedules this past season, and they won. Both will be top 25 next season easily if all their projected returnees come back. Marquette will be top 5. Howard and the Hauser bros are gonna go bananas next season.

Why would Marquette be any different? They have the same guys, no? The same team that lost to us twice and got blown out by Murray State. Until proven otherwise, they cannot beat athletic teams and I just don't see them playing consistently enough to stay close to that level all season. Don't get me wrong, I hope them and Nova are top 5 and SHU is top 25, but I just don't see it panning out all year except maybe Nova. Our conference eats itself...we won't have many sexy rankings because of it. Maybe a few each year or two in the top 20-25 but rarely a top 10 team outside of Nova IMO. Marquette underwhelmed last year, not sure how they get top 5 honors. Howard is 5'10 and has lots of trouble with big guards.

Jesus you were all about Williard a few weeks back. Plus regarding this particular take, nova loses its two best players, BY FAR, and they are the safest bet? Yea they have 5 stars coming in, remember their five start freshmen last year?
