So they have like 3 total guards left
They have a transfer guard that scored 19ppg for Sacred Heart and a top 200 PG and SG recruits coming in. This certainly hurts their depth.

Four-star guard Justin Moore just verbally committed to Villanova, he tells @247Sports | Story: 247sports.com/college/basket…
Would be sweet for ‘that program’ to be St. John’s one day...

Maybe when Jay Wright leaves they hire Brian Mahoney.

Ranked #6 in NJ.
Jalen Gaffney not even in top 10.
Even Earlington was 2nd team all state NJ.

Gaffney plays HS ball in Penn.

Many had Battle projected as a mid-major player but the fact is he is one of the many "middle of the pack" type recruits for whom rankings IMO mean nothing.

Woops, my fault.
Pennsylvania is correct, where he is rated 15th in the state.

Xavier’s Kaiser Gates hires an agent, staying in 2018 NBA Draft

Xavier lost Gates, Trevon Bluiett, J.P. Macura, Sean O’Mara and Kerem Kanter this offseason.

One team SJU jumps in the conference for sure.

If not, then Mullin is definitely gone.
X will be bottom 3 this season,

X has lost a ton. But remember, we always talk about how Butler is going to fall off after losing their key players and coaches. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that good programs that are smart and well-run know how to make good hires and maximize their roster. X is a smart program and they just seem to find a way similar to Butler...they have a winning culture.

Looking for a fair assessment of the teams in the Big East this season as I don’t follow the off-season as closely as I used to. I am sure there will be varying opinions. This is based on what I know.

Villanova- strong as always. How strong depends on whether Spellman and DiVincenzo return.
Marquette - has a lot returning and some additions
Providence - I think will be good but lost Cartwright and Bullock
Seton Hall - lost a lot so unsure
Creighton - always seems to be good. Thomas would be a big loss.
Butler - always competitive
Xavier - loses a lot
Georgetown- a little better then last year?
DePaul - the usual
St. John’s - waiting on Ponds

Andrew gives an accurate assessment of next seasons big east as of today and five years ago that assessment would have been accurate for the next season. But with the changes allowing players to withdraw from the draft and allowing grad transfers immediate eligibility things can change drastically prior to next season.
Just how late can a school accept a grad transfer?
