Around College Basketball

For anyone wishing to take a break from investigating the sweater caper, there are some great college games on today with 17 of the top 25 playing including the last 3 undefeated teams. Some of the games include:
#6 Florida at #10 Kentucky 11 a.m. on ESPN
Georgia at #24 Ole Miss noon on SEC Network
#23 Arkansas at #1 Tennessee 1 pm on ESPN
#25 Baylor at #3 Iowa State 2 pm on CBS
#12 Oklahoma at #5 Alabama 6 pm on SEC Network

And of course the Johnnies at home vs Butler 2 pm on FS1
 
You think Rick can develop kids? How about a backcourt at Iona of Jenkins and Clayton and Nelly Joseph upfront. That's Iona guys not Kentucky or Louisville and not 5 star kids.

Btw Clayton really wanted to follow Coach here to SJU. But Coach knew his parents wanted him closer to home to see him and Rick reached out to Golden to see if he would offer him.
 
I was just thinking the SEC has 5 coaches who have coached at multiple SEC schools.

We all know Rick can coach and develop players. But now it's time to win games here. That's it. I don't care about moral victories. I don't care about what Clayton and NJJ are doing at other schools. Just win games

You think/know Pitino had to make calls on his behalf vs. it happening w/o Pitino? And he mainly went to be near parents ? (Vs hearing he had a child there and/or $$)

I don't get impression Clayton needed Rick's help to go there.

Since 2000, SJU has only had consecutive 20 wins seasons twice. Pitino is very likely going to do it in his first two years. Relax and see how the entire season plays out.
 
Koby Brea of Kentucky 7-9 so far from 3 vs Florida. Came into game shooting 49% from 3. With our need for 3 point shooting amazing that some on here didn’t want him.
 
I find it confusing that Pitino, who has been in love with the three point shot since it was started doesn’t have a couple of sharpshooters on his roster tihis year. Not having any last year could be because of his late start at SJU but not having any this year is curious.

In Pitino's last 11 seasons as a college head coach not one of those teams were top 100 in 3 point attempt % with 6 of those seasons not being in the top 250. In the 10 years prior his teams had never been below 75th in that metric.

He's got 2 guys shooting over 40%.
