Yikes.

Trilly said more European guys will be coming over with NIL. Good thing we have a coach with established connections over there.
Big East better do DAMAGE in the OOC this year... have 5 teams ranked by conf play... cause our conf is gonna be a gauntlet... cant leave the decision up to the committee.... .500 record in conf should get a team Dancing...Is it just me, or are there going to be a lot of stacked teams next year?
Based on what happened last year, I firmly believe that the only way a Big East team gets in the tournament from now on is to ranked to close the season. If you’re a Big East team and you’re not ranked then you’re not getting in. The spots will go to power conference teams.Big East better do DAMAGE in the OOC this year... have 5 teams ranked by conf play... cause our conf is gonna be a gauntlet... cant leave the decision up to the committee.... .500 record in conf should get a team Dancing...
that's why its critical to killit in the OOC... have ranked teams to start conf play...Based on what happened last year, I firmly believe that the only way a Big East team gets in the tournament from now on is to ranked to close the season. I do think we need one more high major opponent. It's a good schedule, definitely better than last year's. But I'd love to add the rumored Alabama game or something like that.that's why its critical to killit in the OOC... have ranked teams to start conf play...
unranked SJU vs unranked Prov won't move the needle for the winner....

I think (as well as some pundits) we'll have a number next to our name to start the season...I do think we need one more high major opponent. It's a good schedule, definitely better than last year's. But I'd love to add the rumored Alabama game or something like that.
Sure , most Teams are now stacked with Professional BB players pretending to be Students .Is it just me, or are there going to be a lot of stacked teams next year?
Big East Pre Season Rankings have us at Number 5 in the BE . Seems like the Pundits don’t value our Portal additions as highly as the Board does .I think (as well as some pundits) we'll have a number next to our name to start the season...
Baylor and Tenn should be ranked (Baylor top10) .... Georgia and Kstate will be solid... if we handle business... we should be looking good heading into conf play.
ya either way.... the Bahamas will give us a great chance to make noise early.Big East Pre Season Rankings have us at Number 5 in the BE . Seems like the Pundits don’t value our Portal additions as highly as the Board does .
But , optimism always abounds . It has to , given our 2 Decades decline .
Ever onward .

Most teams ate not stacked with pro players. Also, while I agree that some don't care about college degree at all, abd for some with legit pro potential, academics might be secondary, I don't think it's fair to say most are pretending to be students. Many take academics seriously (Tareq Coburn a great example...played mid to high level, no pro ball)Sure , most Teams are now stacked with Professional BB players pretending to be Students .
think you actually do agree... Seton Hall was unranked to end the season... and the 2nd team out (right behind Indiana st)... yes- there were bid stealers... but it was obvious that the BE was not looked upon fondly by the committee...Don't agree.
Seton Hall was not ranked, and they would have been in, if not for the unusually high number of bid stealers.
I think DePaul, and Georgetown to a lesser extent, collectivly brought the league's numbers down last season.
Being ranked is subjective though. I don't think the committee looks at that.think you actually do agree... have 5 teams ranked at the end of the season... they are forced to take us... hence good showing in OOC is paramount
I agree with this -- at least that's what it should be and on paper they say they don't.Being ranked is subjective though. I don't think the committee looks at that.
The committee seems to prioritize different things, every year. We can't look at what they did this past year, and automatically assume that it will carry over.
I think the one thing that you can reasonabbly count on, is that there will not be 5 bid stealers again, this year. Most years, there are only 1 or 2. That automatically lowers the bar, right there.
Completely agree RSNC. I am not at all sure that attitude towards academics has changed all that much just because of NIL. There have always been college players who didn't go to class much along with plenty who are very good students. I think there are possibly more kids today who come into college with a decent high school background and look at a college degree as a good backup plan. Most teams ate not stacked with pro players. Also think we're in a glass house for this particular conversation...Completely agree RSNC. I am not at all sure that attitude towards academics has changed all that much just because of NIL. In any event, very unfair imho to paint them all as "pretend students".
