Around College Basketball

On the women’s side, Caitlin Clark took a pretty good shot from a fan when Ohio State fans stormed the court after beating Iowa yesterday. While it certainly appeared to be completely accidental she was knocked down and did not immediately get to her feet.

My bad, just realized that jerseyshorejohnny posted the Clark clip above.
There is an alternate camera angle on this. Clark actually delivered the hit and kinda did the classic shooter thing and flopped. That being said if you storm the court you take your chances that an athlete is going to level you. Also if you’re going to storm the court for goodness sakes just let the other time leave first.

RJ a Stepinac kid is playing as well as just about any guard out there

Should have been 38 as he had one bucket nullified because of basket interference by a teammate that was in after rolling around a bit. Always liked him as a player since high school.

It’ll be a fun, less roller coaster portal season when — once someone announces they’re going to the portal — we will know we legit have them.

Clear as day Pitino learned his lesson from last year (not that he could’ve done anything differently anyway, to be clear).
Pitino always learns and adapts. He is armed with a lot of lessons from this year and that makes him very dangerous. If we don't at least flirt with 25 wins next year I will be surprised.

Chris Walker, a commentator on cbssn, has picked st john's to be in the final four. Nice to see the program being spoken about with relevancy and not derision.

Memphis/Tulane game is fun watch. David Jones is really a special college player. It is a shame he played with a rudderless ship last season. Kolby King, as stats show, is a nice player as well.

DePaul should look at Ron Hunter, Tulane HC, who has won at several programs, to take over when current guy is cut loose.
David Jones has done well at Memphis . Good for him but , against Tulane he took 24 shots , hitting 12. Next player on Memphis had 7 shots .

Jones last year here was mostly lambasted as being a shot Chukker . And , often in not the most of admiring terms .

I would say , his style of play , at DePaul and here , is shoot first and then start to think about his next shot , the next time down Court .

It’s apparently not changed at Memphis and Hardaway has turned him loose .

Doubt he fits the Pitino style of play .

Would be entertaining to have him and Jenkins in the same lineup.

That’s a good way of putting it, Entertaining . I could see the NYPOST by Zach with the headline “ Jones and Jenkins take 40 shots each . Rest of team zero .”
