He's only projected as an early-to-mid 2nd rounder. That's likely why he's staying out. 15 to 20 years ago, he'd be projected as a top 15 pick.
The NLI will allow non guaranteed first round picks to stay in school and make money. It's a big deal.
If SJU had something in place for NIL who knows maybe Champ stays.

There's a big difference between having something in place, and having something in place that's attractive enough to a guy who thinks he'll be on an NBA roster next season.
They do but in some cases it won’t matter. If your done with school and ready to move on, your done. It will entice some to stay like Bacot and cause others to highly consider it but others will forego it and start the clock on their professional careers even knowing they might not get drafted.

Can you imagine what the NIL deal will be for this guy for him to pass up a potential first round pick in the NBA draft?

You're right, I figured with the success his team had with him basically carrying the team, he would be projected higher.
I believe Illinois is trying to make it worth Cockburn's while to come back as he is in a similar situation.

You have to wonder why St. John's wouldn't do the same with Champagne as his NBA Draft prediction seems to be around early to mid second round pick, unless of course there is not a legit NIL opportunity to make it worth his while.

We have two guys in middle now in Soriano and Niywe. Both improved as the season went on and if that trajectory continues over the offseason, we will two legit Big East caliber centers on the Roster.

I think the last time I rooted against Purdue was when they played us. I really like the program, but I feel like they've had a lot of plodding big men in those 14 years. Assuming we get a decent kid to fill the PF spot, I'm pretty happy with Soriano, Nyiwe, and Stanley platooning there (hopefully mostly Soriano).
I follow Purdue very closely. My kid graduated from there, they are my second favorite program. I’ve attended many games at Mackey, (and Ross Ade for football). By and large I agree with your assessment. The pressure is on Painter to crack through. This year was a bitter disappointment. With the talent on that team, losing to St. Peter’s was frankly embarrassing.
