Around College Basketball 2019/20 Season

Michigan State led Georgia by 28, early in the 2nd half.

Bulldogs got it down to as little as 2, and it's still a 4 point game, with 3:28 to go.

Super Frosh, Anthony Edwards (Georgia) is putting on a second half show out in Maui (versus Michigan State). He's practically singlehandedly lead a furious charge from down 28 (in the second half) to only be down by four.

He's scored 28 points in about 15 minutes.

Duke is going to overtime. Announcer just said the last non conference team to beat Duke at Duke was the 2000 SJU.

The Marvis Linwood “Bootsy” Thornton game. Dude dropped 40 on the Dookies at Cameron. Very happy day indeed.

That week SJU beat, Cuse, Yukon and Dook. Good times they were!

Back in 2000 when Bootsy laid them low they had like a 63 or 64 non-conference win streak at the time.

That's correct, fuchsia. Thornton's 40-point game came in a loss.

Bootsy's 40pnt game came at MSG the year before, lost in ot.
That was a great game also

Yes I was wrong. The article I attached references the 40 point game the year before. Bootsy hit the game winner at Cameron. It’s all so long ago and my joy at seeing Dook lose scrambled my memory.

I was there as well. I rushed the floor with like three fans. Were you one of them? Definitely one of my all time greatest experiences as a sports fan.

I was there some crazy Female Duke fan wanted to fight me for rooting for my team. After things settled down and I was on the court savoring the win, Wojo came walking in the other direction and it took all I had to not brush against him and flop on the Court at Cameron. Great Day.

Part of me hates that they lost a Non Conference game at Home as I loved hearing that win referenced over the years. Now we only have Black Sunday.

I'll never forget being at the Duke game a few yrs back when we won at the Garden. Ponds' 3 pointer will stick with me forever. I was ecstatic to say the least right as the buzzer sounded. I was high fiving/hugging every SJ fan within a few feet. A female Duke fan clearly angered caught eyes with me and shouted, "You guys aren't even going to the tourney you guys suck anyway". I remember laughing and thinking that Duke fans are spoiled rotten brats. Fans of those teams have no idea how easy they have it. What they would consider an awful year (say a Sweet 16 and finished reg. season in top 10) would be our best year in ages among the best in history. You would think these fanbases realize Duke will still go deep into the tourney as almost always and finish in the top 10 again and sign all the best kids...again. Duke will be just fine. Let the other programs get their time in the sun.

Conversely, I met several Xavier fans at the BET a few years ago after we beat G'Town and they were very respectful and complimentary. Creighton fans are also awesome and very laid back. Perhaps that's what living in Nebraska does to you lol.
