Kansas plane returns to California after engine fails

You would be surprised this happens more than you might think. My son and I were returning from the Super Bowl in Dallas. He was sitting in a seat behind me when the pilot announced, “we had to shutdown one of our engines”....”don’t worry the plane has four and is designed to fly with one”.... “we have practiced this type of landing many times in a SIMULATOR....” “Don’t be alarmed, you will see emergency personnel on the ground in St Louis (scheduled stop over) but it’s just PRECAUTIONARY...” I turned to my son and said “you didn’t make a deal with the devil in the 4th quarter yesterday did you!!?”....Obviously we landed without incident, crazy but it does happen.

Happy to hear that they landed ok as well.

Watched some of the second half of UConn's rout of NJIT last night. Didn't see Sidney Wilson, who finished with 0 points, 1 rebound, and 2 PFs in eight minutes. Even when game was a foregone conclusion, Hurley kept him on the bench and instead sent in walk-ons. As one UConn poster put it: "Sid got 8 forgettable minutes today. Looked lost of offense and defense. I believe the El Sid era is over unless something happens to shake him up." Another added: "I’m just an old guy watching TV, but watching Sid was depressing."

Iona time?

Sid probably would have played four positions for us right from the start, even though he would have been undersized/unprepared to play three of them. Instead, he barely plays against inferior competition and he attends school in the middle of nowhere. Grass isn't always greener . . . even up in cow-tipping country.

I sure as hell hope so, because that likely would mean that Cluess is back and healthy enough to coach. Not sure Iona gets the same type transfers if Cluess unfortunately can't return.

Any updates on Tim? The silence is unsettling.

Very unsettling. Beast might be plugged in around Floral Park, but he'd probably only post good news.

Looks like he still has to decide between Gonzaga and professional ball somewhere

Watching Iowa vs Penn State from the Palestra this afternoon. Iowa has a 6 10” kid named Luka Garza. Kid is just a big body low post player. He has 16 points in 1st half.

Reason I write this, I go to the Hawkeye bios and see he is of Bosnia Herzegovina heritage. His cousin is none other than Amar Alibegovic. Damn, the prior staff must’ve missed this kid for the elusive big. I wonder if they were ever interested?

GT beating NC 27-4 in Chapel Hill. Under 8 minute TO and NC has yet to hit a FG.

Pretty crappy to announce on TV that your fully committing to Gonzaga and in the same interview saying overseas is still being considered very seriously.

Few going to try the Duke/Kentucky route? One and done players can change your chemistry very quickly, especially one who already has his mind elsewhere.

North Carolina loses at HOME to a now 7-7 Georgia Tech. Yet last week, they were listed as IN the Tournament when they were at 7-5.

Now the trick for North Carolina apologists to get good ole buddy and boy Roy Williams in the Tournament will be they were missing Cole Anthony who is injured. Just watch the spin from the “club”.

Just noticed that Precious Achiuwa averaging 15 ppg, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks in his freshman year for Memphis.

Yes, and if you drop the games Wiseman played in his numbers are even higher. He's picked up the slack to keep them in the top 25.

This was a big recruiting loss by the last staff.

Samir Daugherty with 17 today in Auburns win. This kid clearly slid right into Herons slot at Auburn without any problem. Lavin was spot on with this kid.
